Two weeks passed since the first day Jace and Julia met and Julia's vocabulary was getting better and better. She learned her Abc's in just three days and her numbers 1-10 in just two hours. Mr. Finn was amazed that soon Julia was even reading basic stuff.

It was partly because Jace helped her a little through the mind link, but that seemed to be super effective for Julia's comprehension of everything. It was as if she was telling herself what was what since it was all in her mind, so in a way it manipulated her brain into thinking she knows. Therefore it caused her to actually know.

"Soon she may be able to type up her own sentences. That way she can communicate with everyone else other than you." Mr. Finn said while Julia read a picture book to Jace.

After the doctor's appointment, Jace took Julia to a picnic spot in the forest. There was a small lake that looked as clear as the blue sky. It seemed like it had been unused for years and that was the truth. Only Jace stayed there when things were getting tough for him.

'What is this place?' Julia asked.

"My hideaway. Haha, actually it can't be a hideaway if everyone knows it's where to find you."

'Then what is it?'

"A picnic place. Where you take friends and baskets of food to play and eat."

'I want to do that.'

"Yea? Hmm... I'll see if Rei and the others want to."

'Trip too?'

"Maybe. If he wants to."

'Promise you will ask Raina, Rei, and Nate?'

'Yea I promise. I'll even ask Trip.' Jace said into her mind.

'Yes!!' Julia jumped onto Jace and pushed him off the picnic table bench.

"Wait, wait, wait!" Jace laughed. "Let me change first."

Julia waited as Jace took off his clothes and turned wolf. Jace had not turned wolf once since they first met, so Julia had almost forgotten how he looked.

'I remember now, your a light, shining, brown color. You're majestic.' Julia nuzzled his head.

'Well you're gray and silver. Simply beautiful.'

They both started rolling around and pawing each other. The sun began to get too hot so they ran into the small lake together splashing water everywhere. The water on Jace's fur made him shine even brighter. Julia's wet fur also glistened in the burning summer sun. The both of them were like two shining creatures flying around because they were moving so fast.

They soon went out of the lake and shook off the water for a moment. Then began to playfully attack each other. They bit each other and Jace flinched. Julia had bitten him in his left elbow A little harder than she planned to. He winced in pain.

'I'm so sorry! Jace, what happened?'

'It's nothing.' Jace had his teeth clenched so he couldn't speak...

'Jace! It's not nothing!' Julia started to panic and pace back and forth.

She thought of going to the pack doctor, but he wouldn't understand her and he might also be busy. At a time like this, she really wished that she could turn human. If only she could turn human!

Raina came running with a basket of food but dropped it right before she reached Jace. She tried to calm Julia down and told her that Nate and Rei went to get help.

Soon Mr. Finn was there talking out a syringe and a vaccine. He told Rei, Raina and Nate to hold Jace still because he was about to feel excruciating pain. They all counted to three and then held him back with all their strength as the doctor injected his arm with the vaccine. Julia whimpered as Jace screamed and wriggled in their hold.

After what seemed like forever, Jace stopped, slowly turned back to his human, and fell into unconsciousness. Mr. Finn told them to carry Jace back to the hospital to rest. Julia waited with Raina and the guys in the room Jace was put in.

The doctor told them that when Jace woke up he might still be in pain, so they had to watch after him. When Jace did wake up, he was fine but still a bit tired. The vaccine had made him drowsy and took away the pain.

The others left the room and Julia rubbed her head against Jace's hand.

'What happened?' Julia asked.

"Well... I guess there's no harm in telling you." Jace sounded really tired and Julia started to feel bad for asking, but she really wanted to know.

'I won't see you any different.'

"You remember the hunter attack I told you about that happened three years ago?"

'Yea...'

"I was 15 and dumb. I wasn't fully trained in combat yet so I still had lots to learn about fighting. I thought that wanting to fight would be good enough. That was really dumb of me." He took a while to think.

'Anyways I went out into the open in my human form and saw that there was a hunter. He was attacking this woman. Her name was Gwendolyn. I used to get along with her really well. Anyways I couldn't do anything and she was already cut everywhere possible with a silver knife. I got there as she withered away and then in my trance, I didn't notice the hunter run to me and cut my elbow with his knife. It went pretty deep. My father was the one to take that hunter down. Usually, there wouldn't be anyway of werewolves dealing with silver but at that time Mr. Finn had a vaccine. He wasn't sure it would work, but my parents told him to try it anyway. It cleared the silver enough that it wouldn't spread anymore unless I was in my wolf form. Since Mr Finn only had one vaccine that day I was the only werewolf saved from injury. I used to wish that I hadn't been saved. What's the point of being alive as a werewolf if you risk silver spreading throughout your body every time you turn wolf? But when I found you, everything changed. I forgot that the best part about being a werewolf wasn't that we can turn wolf, but that we find our mates and experience love like no other creatures.' Jace told Julia through mind link.

'When I bit you there, it made the silver particles react and spread even faster, right?' Julia whimpered.

'There was no way that you knew, so don't be so hard on yourself.'

Julia laid in the floor and remembered the lesson she had with Jace about silver.

Silver is effective on a werewolf if they are in human or wolf form. There are rare situations where a werewolf in human form is touched by a very small amount of silver and doesn't get affected, but like Jace, the silver will spread in their wolf form.

If a werewolf is touched by silver in their wolf form, no matter how small amount, the silver will rapidly spread to the point where they cannot turn human to slow down the movement of the silver. They will die while being deteriorated alive by silver even their bones will perish.

Sometimes when hunters hunt for werewolves, they get a lower part of the wolf injected or cut by silver then quickly cut off any upper part for a trophy and vice versa before the silver has spread too much.

Julia remembered that hunters consisted of any and every type of species or creatures with the mind of humans. So she threw her thought of hating humans away and just hated hunters that hunt for trophies.

She let Jace rest and listened to his steady breathing. Soon enough she was sleeping too.
