Chapter 10

The next day, Raina took Julia out shopping. They ended up buying really bright colors because Julia was fond of them and also because Raina now had a thing for neon pink. It was one in the afternoon by the time they were back and they had left at eight that morning. This time Julia didn't hate the city as much as she did the first time she went.

Raina dropped Julia off at the pack house after they washed their new clothes at Raina's house. Jace was in the living room sleeping. He was sitting upright, but his head was back and turned to one side. Julia held in a laugh when his lips parted and he let out a low snore. She walked closer and put her bags of clothes down carefully.

The rustling of her bags woke him up and he smelled her scent. He decided to keep his eyes only slightly open so that it seemed like he was still asleep.

Julia crept closer and leaned into Jace's face. Jace waited until her face was three inches away from his. Then he opened his eyes and pulled Julia into a kiss.

"Ah! My first kiss?" Julia said when they pulled away.

"Haha, yea. Sorry it was stolen. But you were so cute. It seemed like you were going to kiss me anyway."

Julia pouted and then remembered that she had just come back from shopping for clothes. She got up from Jace and grabbed her bags.

"Hey, where will I put my clothes?"

"Maybe in the next room. The room I tried to give you the first day?"

"I really thought that you were locking me up or something." Julia laughed.

Jace just stared and smiled. When Julia stopped laughing, she noticed and tilted her head. That made Jace smile even more.

"What?" Julia asked.

"Oh, it's just that I remember telling you about laughing. Right now you just laughed."

"It's not like it was the first time you heard me laugh." Julia smiled and walked to the stairs.

"Even if it's not the first, it will never get old." Jace got up and followed behind her.

"Haha, thanks. I'll take your offer by the way. At least the room I'll be using is right next to yours."

"Are you sure you won't miss me?" Jace teased as they were walking up to the third floor.

"I don't know..." Julia stopped abruptly and Jace bumped into her.

"What's wrong?"

"You hear that?"

Jace listened and heard a loud noise.

"Yea I did..." Jace sighed and grabbed Julia's hand.

He lead her up the rest of the way. A man walked out of trip's room and closed the door carefully behind him. He shook his head and sighed. Then he walked towards Jace and Julia.

"I guess my job here is done." He sighed again and continued towards the stairs.

"Who was that?"

"Trip hired him as a private investigator. He's the one who's been keeping an eye on Trip's mate and then reporting back. That one day I had to pick up a box that contained some stuff. It was from that investigator." Jace opened the door to the room next to his and Julia walked in.

"Oh... He said earlier that his job here is done... I wonder what happened..."

"Maybe he didn't do his job right." Jace shrugged. "Every room in this mansion has their own bathroom. I'll go and let you settle into this room. You know I have room in my closet right?"

"Yea I know, but I want to see how it is having my own room..."

"Okay, whatever you want." Jace smiled and closed the door.

Julia put her clothes away on the shelves in the closet and hung her shirts with hangers that were already hanging on the rack. She then decided to take a shower.

After her shower she heard Jace leave his room and walk to her door. He knocked and told her that he had some business to attend to on behalf of Trip." Julia pouted and opened the door.

"What? I was just thinking about spending the rest of the day with you."

"Well, They say that Trip isn't answering calls and so I have to go or they are calling it off. It's important and the pack needs this."

"I guess... Okay, I'll wait for you."

Jace leaned in to give Julia a kiss on her head and smiled.

"See you later, Beautiful." He turned and walked to the stairs.

Julia watched as he disappeared down the stairs then closed her door. She Jumped onto the fluffy, purple, king sized bed, and laid there flat on her stomach.

She laid like that for an hour until she couldn't take it anymore. Trip has got to stop making Jace take care of his responsibilities! With ther two piece pajamas on she went out to have a talk with Trip.

Trip's door was closed tight as always. The dark wood looked intimidating, but she had enough of Trip's laziness.

She knocked but it didn't surprise her that he didn't open. In frustration she grabbed the door knob and it turned. Her heart skipped a beat when she thought that she might have broken it, but she pushed the door open and felt a flood of relief that it was just unlocked. That investigator must have left it unlocked and Trip never locked it.

The room was dark and the only light was from Trip's laptop. The floor was covered with paper and items that must have come from the box in the middle of the room that was tipped over. It must have been the box that Jace left out side of Trip's door.

"T-trip...?" All Julia's frustration and annoyance faded into fear.

She remembered that Trip was an alpha. Trip sat at the end of the mess on the ground. He looked down at all the paper and items. Julia did not dare move. She might have even been holding her breath. Everything was silent and neither Trip nor Julia moved.

"Read me the letter." Trip said still looking down. His voice was emotionless.

"Wha...?" Julia started to ask and Trip pointed to his desk.

Julia slowly and cautiously walked over and saw that there was an envelope next to the laptop. With shaking hands she picked it up. It was thick and a little lumpy. She looked over to Trip and he was in the same exact position as he was before.

"Julia, read it to me, would you?" Trip said, but didn't use his demanding rights as Alpha.

"O-okay..." Julia cleared her throat and opened the envelope carefully. It was still sealed shut.

She read the letter out loud.

A/N: I know, a short chapter, but i can't write long chapters... i need to work on that.

I decided to leave it off here because i wanted a cliff hanger lol. So what do you guys think? This story will be finished in a few more chapters... Anyways Predict!! lol What is up with Trip? And do you think that i made the story too short and fast? T^T I tried to make it good... I think this story was a little failed attempt at a good Werewolf story...
