A/N: hi, this is my first wattpad story ever. I love hunger games and pirates of the caribbean so I decided to write this! Read away! BTW this chapter is extremely short but its just to start this of so the next chapters will be longer. promise.
P.S. I might go back and do some random editing later....
Everything was going red. I could feel the blood had run into my eyes, making it impossible to see. I could also feel the pain in my head from where the guy from 11 had smashed that stone into it. In the background I could hear someone calling to me, most likely Cato. I really hope he wins. It would give District 2 three victories in a row.
I tried to hear what Cato was saying but it was drowned in the sound of the cannon, probably mine. But wait. I heard it fire so i couldn't be mine. If it was, I would be dead.
But I'm not. I heard the hovercraft over head. I felt myself being pulled into the air. But why? I know its the hovercraft. How come I'm being taken out of the arena even though I'm not dead?!
I slowly moved my hand to where my district token hung round my neck. It was a necklace, made of silver chain with a circular pendant, which held three stones in it. On each stone there was a small sign. One was jade with an arrow pointing down, the one in the middle was amethyst with a Small square on it, and the third was a ruby with an arrow pointing up. My father had given it to me in the Justice Building.
I heard some mechanical thing move and suddenly it was cooler. I must have been brought into the hovercraft. I felt hands underneath me. Someone was carrying me. They lay me down on a bed and then walked away.
The people started talking with a Capitol accent. Definitely in the hovercraft. But why? I'm not bloody dead! I should still be in the arena! Why am I here?
Then I remembered Glimmer and how she kept starting miniature fights with me in the arena, how one time I fell over hard onto the arm the tracker thing had been put into, how the tracker had started beeping and then stopped after five minuets. Everyone had laughed about that as if it had been nothing.
But was that possible? Could the trackers really be broken that easily? No way. That wouldn't happen. well maybe it could....
I felt the blood being wiped away from my eyes, rather roughly, then a sharp pain in my left arm. The Capitol people started talking.
"Definitely broken," one of them said. It sounded like a girl.
"But how?" the other one asked.
"Remember when she fell over? How the warning light in the control room started beeping?" the girl asked. There are warning lights in the control room?
That was all I heard. So it was broken. They definitely wouldn't put me back in the arena now. What would dad and Lily think? They would think I was dead, that I had failed them. If I found a way to get back to District 2 I wouldn't live it down.
I heard the Capitol people leave. I opened my eyes but quickly shut them again. It was way to bright. I inched them open, really slowly and unclasped the necklace once my eyes had become accustomed to the light. I held it in front of me and stared at the stones. I swung my legs over the side of the bed so that I was in a more comfortable position.
I fingered the jade one and sat there, waiting for the Capitol people to come back. What had happened to the tracker? Why did it break so easily? I heard footsteps and quickly lay back down. I had to get the necklace back around my neck. I felt it start to slip from my grasp and in my hast to put get the stupid thing around my neck my finger slipped on the necklace and landed hard on the green button.
Suddenly it felt as if I were being pulled back. Everything was going blurry and it was making me dizzy. My hand was tight around the chain and I felt it cut my hand. Shit that hurt. I squeezed my eyes shut tight.
I grabbed the pendant and held it close to my temple. The amethyst stone pressed against my head and my mind started to go foggy.
Suddenly, the pulling sensation stopped. I opened my eyes to find myself in a street full of broken houses and debris. Chickens and goats were walking down the street. All the people I saw were oddly dressed, not Capitol style but still pretty weird. The women wore long dresses which were covered in lace and the men were wearing white wigs and shoes with massive buckles.
I was lying rather uncomfortably on the ground, outside what looked like a bakers. My head still hurt from where the guy from 11 had bashed it. Maybe I was hallucinating. I stood up and felt my legs buckle underneath me. My cheek collided with the pavement. I lifted my had to the stinging area and felt blood, not much but enough to inform me that this was no hallucination.
I slowly stood up, being careful not to fall again as it wouldn't do to have more injuries then I already had. I took in all my strange surroundings. Nothing here looked familiar. Where the hell was I?
A/N: I hope you enjoyed. It was to short, I know. the second chapter is much longer. Please vote, comment and fan. I might not be able to update for a few days but until then, HG AND POTC FOREVER!!!P.S. the chapters get better.
