Chapter 16

"Honey I'm home!" I giggled and sat up on the couch as Jimmy and Brian's footsteps come closer to the longe room. As they entered Jimmy flopped down next to me and flung an arm around me whilst Brian looked around with a frown on his face.

"I told Michelle to come around? Didn't she come?" Anger settled on his face and his fists clenced and unclenched. It was obvious that the events of this morning were still playing on his mind, making him more snappy than usual. 

"She just left, Brian. Don't get your pants in a twist." He huffed and flopped down on a chair running his hands through his face and hair. It was quiet. Pinkly's paws hitting the wooden floor boards as she ran throughout the house was the only thing that could be heard.

"So Scarlett. We have to go down to the studio for a few hours, it's our second last day. You gonna come?" Jimmy looked down at me awaiting my response.

"She's coming." Brian answered for me whlst standing up and leaving the room. The thumping of his feet were audiable as he made his way up the stairs.

"I guess I'm coming then." I sighed. 

I stood up, stretched and made my way up to my room to get ready. As I leafed through my wardrobe to find something to wear there was a light knock at my door.

"Come in." I turned my head toward the door to see Brian enter, making his way over to my bed and flopping down on it. 

"I'm sorry for forcing you to come. I just feel so guilty for leaving you alone all the time whilst we're off doing our own thing. It's not fair." He sighed and pulled at his hair in annoyance. 

"Don't worry about it, Bri. It's fine. Really. I just fell into your lives, I can't expect you all to drop everything to baby me. I know what type of life you guys lead, I work in the industry. You're doing what you love and I do not want you to feel guilty for doing what you love just because I need a little extra care."

"Exactly! You need the care! And I can't give that to you and it's fucking pissing me off!" His voice rose with every word he said and his arms flailed to express his anger. 

"Brian don't be stupid." I giggled. "Don't you see what you've done for me? You stayed by my side for two month whilst I was clinging onto life in that hospital and you didn't even know me. You took me in and shared your beautiful home with me. You introduced me to all your family and friends who have been more than kind to me and have taken care of me. Don't you see how much you've done for me?! Never in my wildest dreams would I have expected anyone, even you, to do all this for me. I cannot even thank you enough for all of this." I never looked at Brian as I said what I did. I continued to keep myself busy by sorting through things to wear. 

The bed creaked and Brain made his way over to me and snaked his arms around my waist from behind. I shivered as his breath tickled the back of my neck. He spun me around with me in his arms and pulled me into him. He held me and swayed us from side to side gently. I closed my eyes and let my head relax agaist his chest breathing his intoxicated sent; ciggerttes and calogne. 

Just like Daniel. 

I pulled away from him slowly with my arms still around his waist. I looked into his eyes and reached up to push some hair that had fallen onto his face. 

"Please don't beat yourself up so much because you're not around as much as you would like to be."  He sighed and considered saying something in response but decided against it. Instead he opted for a slow nod. He continued to stare into my eyes which made me blush slightly and look away. 

"Hey-" Brian placed a hand uner my chin and pulled my face back so my eyes met his again. His eyes roamed my face. "You're truely beautiful, you know that?" He whispered. 

My breath hitched in my throat but I couldn't take my eyes away from his. His eyes flicked from my eyes to my lips and back again. Slowly, his head made its way towards mine until his forehead was reasting against mine. His shallow breath tickled my nose as ever so slowly his lips connected to mine. His grip around my waist tightened as his other hand made its way around the back of my neck, pulling me closer to deepen the kiss. 

A shock went through my body, unwilling me to pull away. My arms snaked around his neck and I gently pulled at his hair which made him groan. We pulled away out of breath and rested our foreheads together. I kept my eyes close, concentrating on getting my breath back to a normal pase. 

"Are you guys coming or do I have to tell Matt that the reason why we're late is becasue Brian threw another tantrum?" Jimmy yelled from the bottom of the stairs. I giggled and opened my eyes to be met with Brian's hazel ones. 

"I better get ready so we can leave." Brian simply nodded before giving my lips a light peck and making his way out the door. 

I sighed and shook my head.

What just happened? What about Daniel? 

I settled for a yellow sundress that tied up around my neck and stopped mid thigh. The yelllow of my dress complimented my vibrant orange hair and green eyes. I looked down at my arms to the brusises that stilled adorned my body.

At least they're getting better. 

I grabbed some white sandels and slipped them on my feet and made my way down the stairs. I could hear Jimmy and Brian's laughter fill the kitchen so I made my way in there. 

"Damn Scar! Looking good!' Jimmy whilsted which made me blush and hesitate in the doorway. Brian focused his attention on me and a small smirk played on his lips as he looked me up and down. When his eyes settled on mine he gave me a wink and turned his attention towards Jimmy. 

"Shall we be off then?" Brian grabbed his key and we made our way out the front door. It was a warm summers day and I smiled as the warm sun hit my exposed skin. I laughed as a childish Jimmy ran towards the car and jumped in the front seat before I could. 

"You look stunning in that dress." I turned toward Brian who just finished locking up the house and gave him a small smile. 

"Thanks." He gave me his infamous smirk and took my hand hin his, leading me toward his car and helping me into the back seat.
