I dug my toes into the warm sand sighing in relief. All the memories Daniel and I shared at the beach came flooding back to me causing me to smile.

"The beach remind you of him, doesn't it?"

Brian smiled at me.

"Yea we always use to come down here."

I walked away from Brian and towards the water, letting it lap at my feet. I smiled into the setting sun closing my eyes.

"Scar you're going to pay for that!"

I squealed whilst giggling, running in the opposite direction of Daniel.

I continued to run until I felt Daniels arms wrap around my waist and spun me around.

I laughed until he set me down and turned me around to face him.

He cupped me face in his hands and leaned down; crashing his lips to mine in a passionate kiss.

I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck deepening the kiss. He picked up my legs causing them to wrap around his waist.

We pulled away smiling at each other.

"You see the sunset?"

I turned towards the horizon taking in the setting sun and the shades of vibrant oranges, pinks and reds it was giving off.

I nodded looking back into his eyes.

"It's beauty reminds me of you. Out there for everyone to see, but for no one to have. Because you're all mine Scarlett Bridget Taylor and I love you with all my heart."

I crashed my lips to his knowing in that moment, Daniel was the only one I would ever love.

I opened my eyes looking back at the sunset; radiating the same oranges, reds and pinks it had that night.

I smiled and bit my lip knowing Daniel was up there reminding me of that moment, reminding me that he loved me.

I shook my head and turned around, the smile still on my face.

Brian was sitting up on the sand intently watching me. I walked to him and sat down next to him continuing to look out at the sunset.

"What are you smiling about?" I could hear his own smile in his voice.

"Just thinking of old memories."

"Care to share? Seems to be making you very happy."

I looked over to him seeing a genuine smile plastered on his face.

I shook my head.

"Private memories, Bri."

"Okay, okay. Geez Scar you could've just said no! I don't need to know you're thinking about intimate memories. Virgin ears here!"

He covered his ears like a two year old and my mouth fell open.

"Oh my god, Brian! I wasn't even thinking about anything of the sort."

I laughed lightly punching his arm.

"Your ears are probably the least virgin ears I know, anyway."

He laughed along with me.

"I like when you call me that."

I looked at him confused.

"Bri. I like when you call me Bri."

I raised an eyebrow at him.

"Everyone calls you Bri."

"Yes, but with you it's different."

He looked away seemingly nervous. Thoughts of Val's words earlier that day flashed in my mind.

"How so?"

I questioned.

He kept quiet for a moment.

"It's just.."

He stopped himself, rubbing the back of his neck somewhat awkwardly.

"Y'know what, never mind." He chuckled still avoiding eye contact.

"Okay.." I turned to look back at the diminishing sunset.

"Val told me how much Laura's words hurt you. I'm really sorry about her." He spoke softly.

I stayed silent.

"I don't even know why I'm with her." He mumbled under his breath.

"Don't apologise. It's not your fault."

He didn't reply and I didn't say anything else relating to the subject.

I started to shiver as the sun started to lose its heat and a light breeze picked up.

Brian shrugged off his jacket and helped me into it then put his arm around me.

"Thanks." I smiled up at him and rested my head against him.

I felt him kiss the top of me head before leaning his head against mine.

"There you guys are! Syn, why do you never answer your phone?"

Brian's head snapped up as Jimmy appeared; sitting on the other side of me.

"I left it back at the house."

Brian somewhat growled pulling his arm away from me.

"Makes sense. Well you better get back, Bri. Laura's losing her shit that both you and Scar are missing."

"Great." I mumbled. Just what I needed. Another reason for her to hate me.

Brian sighed and seemed to hesitate before standing up and making his way back up the beach.

Jimmy's arm rested where Brian's was only moments ago.

> Jimmy's POV <

I rested my arm around her shoulders, deciding on how I was going to bring up the dream she had last night.

"Jimmy?" Her voice startled me a little. I turned to look at her and she just looked out at the darkening ocean.

"Yes m'dear?"

She frowned a little before opening her mouth.

"My dream last night.. It was real wasn't it?" She asked. I didn't reply.

"The memories are starting to come back aren't they?"

She caught me off guard and I was unable to respond for some time.

"Yes. It was real."

Her face softened and she smiled slightly.

"It doesn't hurt as much as I thought, y'know. I thought that when I finally started to remember it would push me over the edge but it's good to know what happened. I can finally start being at peace knowing."

I stared at her in disbelief. She was the strongest person I knew and it left me utterly speechless. I tightened my grip on her and continued to watch the sun slip below the horizon.
