Chapter 13

I wandered around the house deciding what to do. I had just come back from another doctors appointment to an empty house. Laura was out with friends and Jimmy and Brian were in the studio. They had insisted I come with them because they hate leaving me alone but I politely declined, telling them I wasn't feeling well.

Which was true.

I sighed and grabbed my car keys before hopping in my car and making my toward Matt and Val's house.

The drive there was silent as I reminisced driving this exact path a million times, never knowing the lead singer of my favourite band lived here.

It's crazy to think I'm friends with them all.

I pulled into their driveway and made my way up to the front door, knocking a couple of times.

Before long, Val answered looking flustered and holding her phone up to her ear.

"Look Matt I can't talk about this right now. I'll talk to you when I get there."

She ended the call and gave me a welcoming smile and hug.

"Scarlett how are you doing?"

She ushered me inside and led me to the kitchen.

"I'm alright."

I replied. I watched as she busily cleaned and put things in order.

"How are you?"

"Val, you and Matt really need to clean your room. It's a mess!"

A woman with blond hair who looked exactly like Val entered the kitchen.

"Oh Scarlett this is my sister Michelle."

Michelle made her way over to me and pulled me into a hug.

"It's so nice to finally meet you, Scarlett! I've heard such wonderful things about you."

I hugged her back and pulled away smiling.

"It's nice to meet you too."

"We're about to head to the studio. You wanna come?"

Val interjected looking over at me.

I knew I should've just stayed home.

No one has time for you Scarlett.

"Oh, no I already declined Brian's and Jimmy's offer. I can only imagine what kind of uproar would erupt if I was to turn up with you."

She threw back her head and let out a laugh and Michelle joined in too.

"Too right, Scarlett."

I smiled a little before collecting my keys in my hand.

"Well, I'll see you guys another time I guess."

I walked over to her and gave her and Michelle a goodbye hug.

"Of course, m'dear. Don't be a stranger around here. Come by whenever you want."

They led me back outside and waved me goodbye as I made my way back to Brian's.

I pulled up in his driveway and slowly made my way inside, sitting down on the couch.

Alone.

That's all I'll ever be for the rest of my life. Alone.

I can't just come into their lives and expect them to just drop everything. You're so stupid Scarlett.

You can't just appear and expect them to look after you and he there for you all the time. They only pitty you.
