..........

I rush outside of the front doors of the high school, to then run around the corner to the back of the building. I climb up and over the brick wall that separates the woods from the school and run along the hidden trail in a hurry to the hiding spot. I find the tree and whistle the same tune I did last night. I jump out of the way as a rope ladder almost pummels me into the ground. I quickly climb up and into the abandoned tree house that my friends and I found one day when we got bored during lunch and decided to venture past the school's back wall. I glare at Aiden, whose job was to throw down the ladder and keep an eye out to make sure that we weren't followed or anything of that sort.

"Just throw me off of the tree house as well why don't ya?" I ask annoyed.

Aiden just sits there with a sheepish look on his face. I continue to just glare at him when I hear a throat being cleared. I turn around to see Riley and everybody else crowded around me with questioning looks on their faces. Mia and Adam are even tilting there head just a slight bit. I notice that Riley and Noah are both sitting rather close, but I decide to just ignore it for now and to ask Riley about it later. I'm snapped out of my observing thoughts when I hear Riley speak.

"What's going on Kara?"

"I'll explain everything in order. So is it ok if I just start with last night?" I say.

They all answer my question when they all nod at once. I take a deep breath and begin to tell them all what happened last night in clear detail. One by one their faces all change emotions throughout different parts of the story. The entire group was concerned when I explain the part about when I almost got caught. Eventually I finish the story and look at their faces one more time to see what they all think.

"That. Was. Amazing!!!" Mia, Adam, and Aiden all exclaim at the same time.

I swear they act like they're all 6 years old when in reality they're all seventeen.

"You need to be more careful next time and flee the scene immediately when you see and hear cop cars on their way." Noah chastises me. Riley just nods along as if she was a bobble head.

"I know that I should have left sooner, but I had one more touch to add." I explain to Noah.

"Your signature isn't all that important!" He exclaims in anger.

"You don't understand." I reply in a cold voice.

"What do I not understand Kara?" Noah asks in exasperation.

"I can't just leave the piece like that without a signature." I explain, the cold hard edge never leaving my tone.

"Why not?" Noah asks in anger, his voice still yelling at me.

"Because I want to be remembered!" I yell at the top of my lungs.

"Because my art means something to me! It's not just a bunch of spray paint on a wall! It shows my pain and suffering as well as my happiness! My art is a fuck you to life!" I explode everything that I was feeling in that moment.

Everyone goes silent at my confession. With no one to fill the silence, I decide to fill it with one last remark.

"But I guess you just don't care. Like everyone else in my life." I say, the cold hard edge returning to my voice.

And with that one last remark, I throw the rope beside the rope ladder down, and slide down in a fast escape. I then land on the ground and break into a run towards school. Tuning out the voices of my friends calling after me.

............

Well that was a little bit of a dramatic ending... I promise that I'm trying to bring back a regular schedule but I guess you'll just never know with me... Anyway, don't forget to please vote and comment , it makes happy to know that you're enjoying the book! Anyway, have a great night, or day depending on where you are and when you're reading this!
