Chapter 13: More Tears?!

Ok. I know I'm a teeny bit late and I'm really sorry!!!! I was busy helping my dad renovate the bathroom ALL DAY!! Again super sorry!!

I'm jolted back into reality when I hear Riley gasp really loudly. I look back at the weirdest scenario that is happening in the weirdest place of all, my hospital room. I look at everybody as they turn to look at me. I'm absolutely turned speechless and the only thing I can is,

"This is the weirdest thing ever."

One by one I felt 3 pairs of eyes on me, the confusing ones of Riley and Noah, and Dragon's slightly amused one. I've never been in this scenario in my life, mostly because Dragon doesn't like to meet new people that mean nothing to his "cause". So, I never had the chance to introduce him to my friends. Ever. But now that I have this chance, I'm turned absolutely speechless once again. Now realizing the long awkward silence that's been happening, I shake my head to clear the chaotic thoughts. When I clear my throat I look at each one of their eyes.

"Guys, meet Dragon. Dragon, meet Noah and Riley"

I managed an introduction and point to the designated person as I said their names. As I introduced Noah and Riley to Dragon, he just nodded to them and walked up to me. I looked up at his approaching figure in shock.

"May I have a word with Kara? Alone." Dragon basically commands.

Noah and Riley don't wait another moment to leave us alone. Drgon just has that aura about him, and those tattoos covering his arms don't help either. As Riley practically flees from the scene, Noah hangs back and looks at me, silently asking if it was ok for him to go as well. I just subtly nod at him. I guess he took that as a yes, because the next thing you know, he opened the door and disappeared, probably to find Riley. I look back up at Dragon as he sits on the chair beside my bed.

"What's wrong? Did anything happen?" I ask Dragon, making sure to keep my voice down.

"No, nothing as of yet."

"Then why are you here? I thought you sai-"

"I know what I said Kara."

Dragon cuts me off halfway. I just sit there, perplexed as to why my mentor is here. After he had recruited me, he never cared if I got hurt. But to be honest? I was never hurt this bad. I was always careful.

"Then why?" I ask.

He just looks at me. I look into his eyes and see them shining a little bit too much.

'Are those tears?! What's up with everyone and crying today?!'

"I was worried"

Dragon's voice jolts me out of my thoughts and I look up at him. He gives me the same look back when I first met him.

'Dragon? Worried'

I just sit there as one tear rolls down his face, my eyes as wide as saucers.

"You said I reminded you of someone when I first met you. Who did I remind you of?" I ask.

"That's a story for another day." Dragon replies.

Just then, he quickly wipes the stray tear away and looks at his watch. He suddenly sits up straight and bolts out of the seat.

"What's going on?" I ask.

"I have to go, I postponed the meeting to today at 5. Its 4:30."

I just nod in understanding. He looks at me one more time before the blank look appears in his eyes and his deep voice is harsh once again.

"We'll talk aout what happened later. I'll send your friends back in."

And with that one last sentence, he leaves the room. I just sit back against the pillows, severly confused.

'What just happened?'

I look back up as I hear the door open once again. Riley and Noah pek their heads back in and look around the room as if searching for something bad.

"You can come in. He didn't leave anything scary in the room. It's just me." I tell them.

There heads snap to my and before I can even think of chuckling at their expressions, the door is thrown wide open and in burst Mia, Aiden, and Adam.

"Kara!" They all yell at the top of their lungs.

'Oh no, not again!' I think to myself, before they start to run towards me.

'Well, here goes nothing...'

With that one last thought, I'm surrounded by arms squeezing the air out of me. Pain makes itself known as my heart rate increases. The monitor that reads my heartbeat starts to go crazy and Noah and Riley practically have to pry the rest of my friends off of me. I just collapse back onto my pillows as Noah starts to scold Mia, Aiden, and Adam. The three 5 year olds (They're actually 17) just stand there taking the scolding with their head bent down. As I get the air back into my lungs, Riley helps me sit back up and gives me some painkillers along with a glass of water. The pain eventually subsides and Mia, Aiden, and Adam start to apologize profusely.

"Guys! I said that its ok!" I practically yell for the 100th time.

Just then the three 5 year olds' stomachs let out a loud rumble that could cause an avalanche. We all just look at each other and burst into laughter.

'Everything's ok again.' I think to myself, as I keep laughing loudly. Slight pain still evident.

But only did I know that this was just the beginning...
