How long will I love you?

Minutes, seconds, hours, and days,

My love for you will always set my heart ablaze.

Weeks, months, centuries, and years,

Why do I love you so even when you are the cause of my tears?

Broken, ruined, shattered, and bent,

That’s how I am now, although I do not resent,

You have been kind, and honest, and sweet, and brave,

Regardless of the pain you’ve caused me, I always forgave.

There was something about you, something that made me stay,

It was something that made me sure that I would love you until my hair turns grey.

I’ve always put you first before of all things, always at your beck and call,

Even when you ask me to take your girlfriend to the mall

I’ve never known of true love before I met you,

Your love was non-existent, of course, but mine was true.

Getting over you was the hardest thing I could ever do,

But never did for it pained me, oh if only you knew.

If only you could see my effortless charm, my wit, and undefined grace,

But knowing the circumstances, my efforts would end in waste.

I guess you will always have a fraction of my heart,

You will always have it, until the day I fall apart.
