I wake up to sound of a camera flashing. I open my eyes and see that I'm laying on top of Scorpius, (and yes, I mean on top of, my torso was on his). I look up and see Albus, so I untangle myself from Scorpius' arms and sit up, ready to scream bloody hell at Albus when he points at Scorpius and puts a finger to his mouth, shushing me. I scowl at him and decide to lecture him on this later.
Scorpius is still asleep when Albus leaves and I decide to stay with him. Maybe when he wakes up we can talk about what he's been doing and we both won't start crying. I lie back down, but this time on a pillow.
I wake up once again on Scorpius' chest. What can I say he's a walking furnace and I'm always cold. I know he's awake because he's braiding my hair, then un-braiding it, than re-braiding it again. Lily taught him how to braid my hair her first year so I would ask him to braid it instead. I still can't braid my hair though. I yawn and sit up, careful not to squish him.
"Sleeping Beauty finally woke up." Scorpius laughs. I roll my eyes.
"Well Albus woke me up earlier with his camera." I mutter. Scorpius groans.
"I'm assuming he'll be selling them again to our fan club." I say while rolling my eyes.
Scorpius runs a hand through his hair. "Bloody hell. You have a boyfriend which you would think implies that we're not dating." Scorpius says sighing. He sounds annoyed along with something else I can't identify.
Scorpius stands up and grabs a sweatshirt. "Do you want to sneak to the kitchen? I haven't eaten all day and I think It's safe to assume you didn't either."
"Sure. But for your information I had a sandwich at lunch. Albus forced me too." I reply.
"I have to learn his secrets." He mumbles.
"Well c'mon then. I want a cup of tea." I say. Scorpius laughs. I love his laugh. He doesn't really laugh or smile around people he doesn't know, so it's nice to hear it. And because he normally has a neutral face all the girls I know think he's mysterious and that makes him like 10x hotter in their minds. I have to cough to stop myself from laughing at the thought.
Once we're outside the common room I make sure no one's around. "Can I ask you a question?"
"Sure what's up?" Scorpius looks at me.
"Well I kinda want to know what pushed you to do..." I trail off not knowing how to finish my question.
"Oh." Scorpius whispers. "Well I guess it was nothing in particular." He says after a minute.
"You know you can tell me anything right?" I know he's not telling me everything.
"Yes I know Rose." Scorpius smiles at me, making me smile.
When we reach the kitchen's entrance Scorpius tickles the pear, opening the portrait. The kitchen is bustling with (payed may I add) house elves. We are greeted by one named Pepper.
"How may I help you?" She squeak
"Hi, can I just have a cup of tea please?" I ask. Scorpius rolls his eyes.
"And we'll have any leftovers you have from dinner please." He says. I groan. "You need to eat." Is all he says before he turns and watches the house elves. All I can think is I survived this long. Before I know it the house elves bring Scorpius a picnic basket and me tea.
"Thank you, have a nice night." We say together.
"Have a nice date!" Pepper chirps as we step into the hallway.
I blush and Scorpius just rolls his eyes.
"Hey Rose, we're on a date." Scorpius says in a mocking voice and i can't help but laugh.
Once we're done eating I turn to Scorpius.
"You know you can talk to me right?" I ask.
"Yeah." He looks down.
"Then why didn't you? I could've helped."
He sighs. "I know that but-" He pauses and runs his hands through his hair. "I didn't want to be a burden I guess. And how do you even bring this up? 'Hey I have severe depression and I want to not be alive can we talk about it?' I just- that's weird and awkward and makes me seem like I'm looking for attention."
I grab onto him, startling him. "No." I shake my head. "No no no. That's not true you're not a burden Scorpius. You're my best friend. I don't know what I'd do without you. And don't give me that I'd be okay because I wouldn't be. And you just matter a lot okay don't forget it." There's tears running down my face by the time I stop muttering on.
Scorpius wraps his arms around me. "Hey don't be upset I'll survive one way or another." He lets out a small laugh. "As long as you're okay I'll be okay."
