The wiki page says his eyes are grey (even though they're usually portrayed as blue in fanart) so depending on the oneshot I'll use one or the other.

It was hard not to notice the now empty desks that sat just beyond the screen on your desk. Lieutenant Anderson and his android partner Connor used to sit there, but since recent events they hadn't come back. The android revolution. It was the talk of everyone in Detroit and fresh on the minds of those who had androids. They had to get rid of them in fear of them turning deviant and joining the violent party led by Markus. You yourself had an android but now that she's gone, you have to do the chores you had her do and cook the meals she made for you. It was a hard adjustment.

But you supposed that was better than the outcome if the deviants succeeded. You heard Connor took down the leaders of Jericho then returned to CyberLife. He hasn't come back.  As for Hank, he started to side with the deviants so that put him in Connor's way. You can only guessーafter his many days of absenceーhe died. Being the desk right next to them made interaction easy, and you'd like to say you gained a friend in each of them.

But now you felt alone.

"Excuse me, Inspector (L/N)?" You recognized that voice. You whirled around in your swivel chair.

"Co-" You stopped. It looked like Connor, but it wasn't. The eyes weren't the soft cocoa brown you remembered, they were a steel grey. It was taller, stood up straighter, and wore a different jacket. Its expression was blank. Even if it didn't have the customary LED on the side of its head you would know it wasn't human.

"I am the new and improved Connor model, and I will act as your partner," it said. The way it said it...it was just wrong.

"Are you replacing Connor?"

"The RK800 was only a prototype. I am the RK900, the RK800 without its flaws."

"Oh." Your eyes cast downward.

"Is there something wrong?" He didn't say it like he cared about you but more like it was necessary.

"No, I'm just...no." Androids don't care about humans, not like how humans care about other humans, but the RK800 was so convincing. You thought for sure he enjoyed your company, but it all must've been a show. Maybe if he stuck around longer... You shook your head to pull yourself to the present. Connor wasn't coming back, you had a job to do, and this new 'Connor' was going to help you do it.

"Have you been out in the field before?" You stood and grabbed your belt from the desk, wrapping it around your waist as you looked at the android.

"Not yet," 'Connor' replied. You wondered why CyberLife made him so robotic.

"Well this is a good starting assignment. Come on." He followed you out the door to your police car. Once inside you turned to him. He sat like a pole was strapped to his back. "Why were you assigned to be my partner?"

"You were close with the RK800 so CyberLife assumed you'd want your own android partner." So the relationship with Connor wasn't one-sided.

"Do you want to be my partner?"

"I am a machine, I have no say in who I work for."

"Oh." It was silent as you focused on driving.

Then, like it was an afterthought, 'Connor' added, "I am fortunate CyberLife didn't choose to pair me with Detective Gavin Reed." You let out a snort.

"I'm sure you'll get to know him well." Reed made sure to pick on Connor as much as he could; the RK900 wasn't going to avoid him for long. Though it didn't look like 'Connor's expression changed, you were fairly certain a small frown formed on his face.
