Peaches (my hedgehog) and I are writing this for all of you (she's actually just sleeping in my lap but). We hope you enjoy and wish you a Merry Christmas!

As a young lady in her 20s, you were supposed to be looking for a suitable partner to share the rest of your life with. Some (your grandparents) said you were already behind on finding one. You thought it was perfectly reasonable to be unmarried at your ageーespecially because you received no attention from the male population.

However, the pressure from your grandparents that you had to marry pronto and your parents implying they wanted grandchildren eventually got to you and you decided this was the Christmas you'd introduce a man to them. You puzzled over who'd be the special guy, and after a solid minute of staring intently at the wall, you sighed. Sure you had friends in the police station, but none would probably feel comfortable pretending to love you in front of your family.

You set your chin on your palm and huffed. Work consumed so much of your life you didn't interact with many people outside of your fellow officers and pet hedgehog. As you were staring into space, a figure approached you and leaned against your desk and folded their arms.

"Hey (L/N)," Gavin Reed said, snapping you out of it.

"Oh, hey Reed." You flashed a brief smile then turned back to your screen to appear busy. He was hated by most of the station but you didn't really have much of an opinion of him; he only interacted with you once, and all he did was accidentally bump your arm that held your coffee and apologize before rushing off.

"I saw you staring at the plastic trash can," he started, a mischievous smirk on his lips. What?

"I was actually checking out the wall," you said. Looking at the particular spot on the wall now you noticed how close in proximity it was to the station's android detective Connor.

"Yeah, sure," he snorted. "I've seen you two together. You're trying to hide it but the whole station knows." He was glaring now, a snarky tone in his voice. Your eyebrows furrowed as you turned your complete attention to him. What was he on about?

"What do you mean?"

"Don't play stupid!"

"I honestly have-"

"Detective Reed, (L/N)." Both of you spun to see Fowler glaring at you. "You're not getting paid to chat."

"Sorry, sir," you called.

"I don't want apologies, I want action. Hop to it!" You immediately pushed your chair back to the screen to continue your report as Reed walked off to annoy someone else. Now you understood why everyone hated him.

But what was he talking about? You and Connor weren't a thing, you didn't even think you'd call it friendship. Yeah sure you've talked off duty and you may've been caught admiring his looks but that meant nothing! It wasn't like you two could date-

You gasped. Of course! Why didn't you think of that? You felt so stupid, but at least you finally had a plan. After typing the last sentence in your report, you casually strolled over to Connor's desk.

"Hey Connor, I was thinking-"

"One moment please, Detective." He held up a finger and you stopped. He finished typing something up then turned to you. "What were you saying?"

"Um..." You suddenly wanted to back out. What if he said no or thought you were weird? Come on (Y/N), you have no other option. Besides, he's just an android. But he wasn't just an android to you. He rose an eyebrow. "Ok so my parents, they want grandchildren." He blinked.

"What does-"

"And since I haven't dated anyone in, like, forever they're getting anxious. They're pressuring me to get married."
