The AU is Connor and Hank switching places (Connor is a human alcoholic, Hank is an android sent by CyberLife), not everyone switching like in the Reverse AU. I thought their personalities would switch for the most part but they'd still have a few characteristics of themselves, so this happened (I don't know if they're OOC or if I'm allowed to give them whatever personality makes sense to me......yeah they're definitely out of character).

You checked yourself in the rearview mirror of your car one more time before stepping out. You wanted to both skip and drag your feet, but because neither was appropriate for a new cop, you settled for a walk. Today was your first day and you were assigned under Lieutenant Anderson. You read up on him as much as you could and learned about the cause of his high rank, and to be perfectly honest you were excited to meet him. You ironed your clothes, styled your hair, and practiced what you'd say in hopes you wouldn't look like an idiot just to make your first impression a good one.

You breathed in deeply before stepping through the DCPD doors. An android sat behind the front desk and smiled as you approached. You cleared your throat.

"Hi, I'm (Y/N) (L/N), I'm assigned under Lieutenant Anderson."

"Can I have some ID please?" she asked. You took out your driver's license and after a brief look she handed it back. "The Lieutenant hasn't arrived yet, feel free to wait at his desk until he comes."

"Thanks." You rounded the desk to the main office area and stopped. It was busy, everywhere you looked someone was there. You slowly entered the hustle and bustle, watching everything with wide eyes as well as searching for Lt. Anderson's desk. You bumped into someone, mumbled an embarrassed apology, then tripped and nearly faceplanted into a desk.

By the time you found his desk you were flushed and a little sweaty. It was unoccupied like the android told you so you decided to take a look at the various things decorating it. In a frame resided a picture of a Saint Bernard, next to that was a lamp with a Detroit Gears baseball cap on it, and beside his monitor was an open case file. You were bending over to read it when a very annoyed voice stopped you.

"What are you doing?" You snapped up and whirled to face the person, already concocting an excuse when you met eyes with a handsome guy. Your words died in your throat. The android looking over his shoulder scanned you and smiled.

"It's Ms. (L/N)."

The guy groaned and ran a hand down his face. "Right, the rookie." You looked between the two for an explanation before figuring it out. That's Lt. Anderson! Come on (Y/N), remember what we rehearsed!

"It's, uh, nice to meet you. I-I hope we, um-"

He cut you off. "Listen Rookie, I'm only doing this to save my job."

"O-Oh." You looked down. Why did he sound so pissed? From what you read you thought he'd be really cool.

"Could you move?"

"Right, s-sorry." You stepped aside so he had access to his desk. He sat down and ignored you as he typed something on his monitor. You stood awkwardly for a few seconds, unsure of what to do and wondering if he'd get mad if you asked.

"Hey, I'm Hank," the android said, holding out his hand to shake. He had white hair pulled back into a partial ponytail, a jacket with RK800 on it, a tie that looked poorly done hanging from his neck, and a welcoming smile on his face. He seemed a lot friendlier than the Lieutenant.

"Nice to meet you." You grabbed his hand.

"Likewise." He looked down at your linked hands with surprise. "That's one strong grip you've got there."
