Prompt: I love your writing! Anyway, not to be a bother, but could you maybe do one where the reader is sick and Connor could take care of them? It would be cute. Keep up the amazing works! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
Note: I had no clue where I was going with this as I was writing it, so if it's odd that's why.
--~~--~~--
This was just one of those sicknesses that had to run its course and there wasn't much you could do in the meantime. And now that's all fine and good, missing work for a few days is nice even if you're coughing now and then, but this bug made you feel like you were dying. Your stomach hurt, you felt light-headed, the coughs and runny noses were getting maddening, and you couldn't bring yourself to do anything but sit in front of the TV.
Sweaty and in need of a shower, you considered getting up to go wash off. A foot landed on the cold ground and instantly you had a coughing fit. My body says no. So you wrapped the blankets around yourself tighter and settled down to watch another episode of your favorite show.
A knock came from the front door and you attempted to call out a 'Come in' but it sounded like gibberish. You put a freezing hand to your forehead, groaning. You heard the door open and shut, then an android came into view. Connor. You suddenly wished you'd taken that shower.
His LED flickered yellow as he walked over to assess your situation. In books scenes like this they usually were made all fluffy and cute, and usually the non-sick person would tell the sick person that they loved them anyway and they were beautiful/handsome despite looking like crap and they'd kiss and stuff, but when was the last time anyone wanted to be near you when you were coughing up a lung? Exactly. So laying thereーyour hair snarly and body covered in sweat (and the smell that came with it), snot dripping out of your nose and plenty of kleenexes around you, not to mention how very exhausted and out of it you appearedーyou wondered why Connor was even sticking around.
"I was informed you were feeling sick and thought I should stop by." He looked you up and down with pity. You coughed into the inside of your elbow and sniffled.
"Just a cold er somethin', it'll go 'way." Your voice sounded off, both due to your flaming throat and plugged nose.
"Would you like me to get you anything?"
You shrugged. "Maybe something for the pain? Or to make me sleep." He nodded and left to search through your medicine cupboard. You went back to watching your show, and not long after a cup and pill appeared at the edge of your vision.
"Take this." You took the apple juice and strange purple pill. You didn't recognize it; maybe it was at the back of the cupboard.
"Whaz it?"
"What the internet suggests you take when you're experiencing your current symptoms." Very reliable. You popped the pill in your mouth and took a sip from the cup, only to immediately spit both out.
"What iz 'is?"
"That's apple cider vinegar." He looked so innocent when he said it, like he didn't think you'd mistake it for apple juice or that you'd detest it so much. Grimacing, you took the purple pill from the ground, wiped it off, then threw it in your mouth and downed a sip of the apple cider, cringing as it went down like you just bit into a lemon. You made a disgusted noise and shoved the cup back into his hand.
Connor tilted his head in confusion. "Did you not like it?"
"Never make me drink that again." You gagged, making his LED flash yellow.
"I'm sorry, I didn't-"
"It's fine." It was difficult to get mad at Connor, so at his genuine apology, you found yourself brushing the encounter off.
The medicine worked quicklyーmuch faster than what you had as a kidーand soon the pain faded away. You grew drowsy and settled down for a nap, seeing the TV turn off with your half-lidded eyes. Shortly after you were out cold.
You woke up in your bed, no idea how you got there or how long you'd been asleep. Glancing at the clock you saw it was 6:45, but since you didn't know when you nodded off that didn't help you. Remembering Connor, you wondered if he was still here. But, more importantly, you had to pee.
Slipping out of bed, you crept over to the door and quietly opened it. You checked the hall before moving to the next room over and stepping inside. You did your business, washed your hands, and opened the door to see Connor standing on the other side. You yelped, which dissolved into a cough.
"I see you're awake, how are you feeling?" he asked.
"Better, but how'd I get there?" You gestured towards your room.
"After you fell asleep I picked you up and brought you to your room. I figured it would be more comfortable than the couch." I must've been out cold if I didn't wake up. "Now that you're up, would you like anything?"
"Supper. And maybe a good movie to watch."
"What would you like to eat?"
"Whatever your professional opinion thinks I should eat." You offered a half-smile. "But not apple cider vinegar."
"Is there any movie in particular you wish to see?"
"I'll go look." You tried to walk past him but he quickly shook his head and picked you up. "What are you doing?" you cried, your face growing warm.
"Carrying you to the couch," he replied innocently. "I don't want you to hurt yourself on the way." You buried your face in his shoulder and let out a groan he could faintly hear. He set you down on the couch, helped you make a cocoon of blankets, then patted your head before heading into the kitchen. While he was gone you eyed the movies and tried to decide on what to watch. You came to a decision around the same time Connor came back.
"We should watch (Movie)," you said, rocking a little in your burrito. He agreed and tried to hand you a bowl of soup, only to realize your hands were trapped against your body which was trapped in the blankets. His brows furrowed as he analyzed the situation. You opened your mouth wideーwaiting for him to spoon-feed youーbut when he stared at you with confusion, you guessed you had to spell it out for him. "Feed me."
His eyes went wide. "You want me to..." It was like his processor was buffering. Then he dipped the spoon into the soup and held it to your lips. You closed your mouth around the spoon, and after a moment, he pulled it out. The flicker of his LED gave away his nervousness, but he got another spoonful regardless.
After a little bit of that, you asked if he could start the movie. He set the bowl on the floor and walked over to the TV. Eyeing the bowl, you flopped onto your stomach and strained to dip your tongue in the broth. Connor turned around once the DVD was in the player and stopped. You were lapping up the soup like a dog, and though it wasn't the least bit adorable, he thought it was (but that's probably just cause he likes dogs [and you]). He watched for a moment before you noticed, and becoming flustered, you tried to sit back up only to find you were stuck.
He smiled at your predicament before picking you up and setting you down upright. Next he picked up the soup and fed you while the previews played. You missed most of the spoon in your mouth and the broth streaked down your face. He promptly wiped it off, smiling when you specifically avoided his gaze.
The title screen appeared and Connor set the empty bowl down to press play. He wasn't sure what to do at first; you're supposed to watch movies but he didn't see how that could be enjoyable if he already knew exactly what was going to happen, and he couldn't think of anything else to do while you watched it.
He felt something land on his shoulder and turned to see it was you in your little burrito. You glanced down at him and smiled awkwardly, hoping he didn't mind that you accidentally tipped over on him. He wrapped his arms around you and rested his head on yours, content to sit there and watch a movie with his lil burrito.
