The next morning, Hiccup woke up to see Toothless had left the cave.

"Toothless?" he said, still half asleep, "Toothless!" he called. He quickly ran out of the cave to see if his dragon was outside, only to nearly get blasted by a huge cloud of fire breath!

"Whoa!" Hiccup exclaimed and instinctivly darted behind the wall of the cave. His eyes wide and his face hot from almost being burned alive, Hiccup breathed heavily as he peeked out of the cave to see the commotion.

Dragon fight. Toothless against a wild Monstrouse Nightmare. Roars and growls came from both dragons. They were clearly very mad. The wild dragon lit itself on fire as it jumped at Toothless. Toothless clawed at its' face, causing its flame to go out, go off course, and crash into a near by tree. Hiccup knew he had to stop this show down, but how? As he thought, Toothless shot a Plasma Blast at the Monstrouse Nightmare.

The boy knew the more he waited, the worse thsi would get. So without thinking, he ran to his dragon, hoping to stop this mess.

"Toothless!" he called out. Toothless turned around and his angry eyes turned innocent at the sight of this rider, and his slit pupils wided back to boxes. "What are you doing Bud?" Hiccup said as he held his dragon's head. "Come on, Bud. Let's go." he tried to have his dragon walk away, but just then the Monstrous Nightmare got back on its feet, shook its head, and roared with rage.

Toothless narrowes his eyes, pupils back to slits, and lifted his wings high; attempting to look frightening and protect his friend. This wasn't over.

"Toothles let's go!" the boy called out, but his dragon shrugged him off as to say, No! I gotta finish this!

The wild dragon dashed at its opponant, as Hiccup took cover under Toothless' wing. Just at the right moment, when the Monstrous Nightmare was inches away with its mouth open about to strike, Toothless shot a blue fire ball right into its mouth! Causing the beast to freeze in its tracks and start coughing and wheesing and nearly fall over when it turned to fly away. It took the monster a while to get air born, but did eventually succeed to retreat.

When Hiccup heard the sound of flying wings, he slowly uncovered his face and dumbfoundedly looked around the area. He figured Toothless scared it off, and looked to him to confirm his thought. The told you so look on the dragon's face made it an obvious yes.

Hiccup gave his dragon a glare, "What was that all about? You know better!" he ligltly hit Toothless' shoulder, but the dragon just rolled his eyes. "You all right, Bud?" Toothless purred to assure Hiccup."You really gave me a scare", he continued, and looked down at his dragon's tale to make sure his prostedic didn't burn off. Thankfully, it was all there.
