"Go straight in Harry. She's getting ready upstairs. Help yourself to some tea or coffee."Avery said goodbye to Harry as he arrived at the house. She was climbing into her car as she said goodbye. She drove away in the opposite direction to the one Harry had drove in.
He walked into the house, almost instantly smelling the cinnamon incense that Avery always burnt. Grace said she was obsessed with the smell, and she would always light a candle every evening before she was working. She hadn't lit those candles in a while.
It was a strong smell which spread throughout the house. He closed the door behind him and walked further into the house. Grace wasn't downstairs, so he assumed she was still getting ready.
"Grace!" He shouted out her name, yet no answer came.Harry wondered up the stairs towards her room. Knocking quietly on the door he waited for an answer, yet again, she didn't reply.
If she was getting changed she would have told him to wait surely? He pushed the door open a small fraction, just enough to see the left corner of her room where her bed was.
He smiled to himself as he saw her lying beneath the covers. He pushed open the door and walked into her room fully, walking straight towards her.
Her chest rose and fell softly as she inhaled quietly. She looked too peaceful and he didn't want to wake her. Yet selfishly, he did, because it meant they could have more time together."Grace, it's time to get up."
She didn't stir, so he tried again.
He rested his hand on her cheek and said it again, raising his voice more.
"Grace, it's time to get up, come on.""Five more minutes mum."
He laughed gently at her sleepy state. She was so oblivious to the fact he was here.
He pondered on doing something else to wake her, but he was unsure of what else he could do. He didn't want her to wake up and kick him in the face or anything. An idea came to his head as he placed his lips beside her ear.
"Graceeee, wake up baby."She reached up and laced her arms around Harry's waist, her eyes still screwed shut.
He laughed loudly, causing her to groan. She lay on the bed, her back to the wall, and her arms wrapped around Harry's waist. It was probably one of the only times she had slept for over 2 hours. She wasn't ready to wake up yet.
He tucked her hair behind her ear and sat looking down on her.
"What time is it?" She mumbled into the bed sheet.
"It's almost half 11."
She sat up slowly, opening her eyes to meet Harry's green ones.
"Morning."
He smiled at her as she covered her face quickly.
Her cheeks burned a bright pink as he laughed at how she was embarrassed."You're adorable Grace," he laughed and she shook her head quickly.
"I didn't know you were here. I fell asleep.""Clearly," he poked her side while she wriggled beneath the covers.
"Mum said to make you a beverage. But as you can see I'm still in bed."
Harry nodded and stood up from his position. Her hair was sticking up in all different positions and she had dark circles beneath her eyes. But to Harry she looked as beautiful as always.
"I'll wait for you downstairs for you."
He turned away from her bed and walked back towards the door. He shut the door behind him and walked back down the stairs."I'll be as fast as I can!" She shouted down to Harry.
He didn't know what he was supposed to do so he just sat on the couch. He pulled out his phone and scrolled through his messages.
He had a message from
"Tom" otherwise known as Dr. Hiddleston.
Tom: Your meeting with Mrs Jones is cancelled today.
Harry: okay thanks Tom. Is Grace the only meeting today?
Tom: Yeah. You're off for the rest of the day.Harry had the full day for Grace. Before Grace, he was open to speak to any patients as he didn't have a schedule. He had joined at Sunnyvale several months ago.
Him and Hiddleston both joined together. They had came from a different centre named Westbrook. For people struggling with trauma.Harry now had a schedule with different patients each week. He spoke to Grace every other day, usually at 11am. Mrs Jones was a 56 year old woman who was going through some stuff. She had also spoken to Kelson before he had left.
"I'm ready."
Grace stood in front of Harry. She had a pair of black skinny jeans on and a red shirt which fit her curves perfectly. Her long blonde hair cascaded down her back in waves and a pair of black Chelsea boots sat on her feet."You look nice Grace."
"You're such a charmer."
She rolled her eyes and walked into the kitchen, flicking on the kettle.
"Do you want a drink?"Harry nodded slowly
"Have you got any coffee?"
She nodded and reached up into the cupboard to grab the coffee. It was on the top shelf and she couldn't quite reach it from her position."Harry can you grab it for me?"
She smiled innocently at him as he sighed and walked over. He leant up and swiped the coffee pot from the top of the shelf."Here."
His hand was on the small of her back as he placed the pot on the kitchen counter.
She smiled up at him as he walked away as thought nothing had happened.
Ever time he was near her, she got chills. She felt her stomach twist as though something was always seconds away from happening.
But every time they got closer, she felt even further away.
"I'll make your coffee then when you're done we can leave."
He nodded and sat back down on the couch.
"Alright love."
