I click the door open as quietly as possible, and shut it behind me. Grace is still sound asleep, her eyes closed over and soft breaths falling from her lips.
I put my keys in my pocket, and walked over to where she lay.
I took the blanket off her, and put it back on the arm of the chair.I scooped my arms under her, and picked her up- her head rolling onto my shoulder.
She was a lot lighter than she looked. Her curves and thighs were definitely more rounded, something I was obviously very attracted to.I tucked her arms into her chest and placed both of my arms under her spine, and headed towards the stairs. She had stared slightly when I lifted her, but hadn't woken fully.
The staircase was huge, and I had to be careful not to trip, Grace's body blocking my view of the ground under my feet.
She really did look angelic when she was sleeping. When I reached her bedroom, I placed her down on the bed gently, before shutting the door. The door made a louder noise than I had hoped, and I span to see Graces eyes flutter open. I could barely see her, the brightness from the moon being the only light in the room.
Her face twisted in confusion, before her eyes met mine and her expression softened. She looked knackered.
I walk over and kneel down beside the bed, and she scoots towards me, a tired smile on her face.
"Hi you," I smiled back and she hides her face with her arm.
"Hi," She croaks and peeks at me through the gap of her fingers.
God she was fucking adorable."How long was I asleep for?" She asks and I shush her, brushing her hair back off her face. I run my fingers through it and her eyes flutter close, relaxing as I rubbed her scalp.
"Not too long. But you're tired, you should sleep."
She shakes her head and opens one eye."Where's peter?" She asks, her voice hoarse.
She was in such a dozy state I couldn't help but laugh."I drove him home. It got pretty late and I didn't want him to go on his own. I was only gone for like 20 mins."
"Aw you've actually got a heart. You're warming up to peter."
I screwed up my nose in fake disgust and she laughed, a small wheeze coming from her lips. She looked up at me, the smile fading, but the look in her eyes was still soft.
My knees were starting to hurt from being bent down but it was worth it. Seeing her in this state made me feel like a teenager again, all giddy and warm.
It made me feel strange, something I wasn't too sure I'd felt before.Grace looked over at me before speaking.
"Will you stay with me Harry? Just for tonight?" She looked embarrassed with the words she was saying."It's probably not a good idea Grace. Avery will come home and I won't be able to explain it. I don't want to take that risk."
Turning her down killed me, but I knew it was probably for the best. As much as I wanted to, the consequences would outweigh the advantages.
Her face turned blank, as if she was trying to hide her emotion. I wanted to tell her that I would love to stay, and that it would be perfect for me. But I just kept quiet, knowing that I would want to stay even more.
"Okay. I understand."
She nodded and I smiled sympathetically."Look. I'll be here in the morning. You need some rest."
She nodded and I stroked her cheek.
