Grace's p.o.v

I sat on the edge of the bed, my feet hanging off the side. My mother had left to go to work several hours ago, leaving me in the house. I ran towards the kitchen, a doll in my hands, searching for my father. His grumbly voice interrupted me as he picked up and spun me around.

"Daddy !! Daddy!! Put me down!" I yelled and kicked my legs as he span me around in the middle of the kitchen.

"Happy birthday papa!" I shouted excitedly.

"Thanks jelly bean," he laughed as I swung from around his neck.
He pretended to roar like a lion, as he tickled my hips. I squealed and wrapped my small arms around his neck. My fingers brushed across his beard as he stuck out his jaw, spiking me with the bristly hairs.

I laughed as he squeezed me tight before putting me back down on the floor.
"Hey you should go and play with your dolls before mummy gets home yeah?"
I pouted and wrapped my arms around his waist.

"Can is show you my dolls later?" I asked and he nodded, smiling softly down at me.

"Yeah, daddy just has to do something," he ruffled my hair before placing a kiss to my head.

I held my arms up, reaching for him again as he picked me up quickly.

"What are you doing?" I asked, while he smiled at me, his pearly white teeth showing.
"I need to do some adult things."

He kissed my forehead softly, before stroking my cheek lovingly, his large hand covering almost half of my head.

"I love you jelly bean. Daddy wants you to know that."
I wrapped my arm around his huge muscle.

"I love you too!! Why do you look so sad,"
A frown appeared on his face as he kissed my forehead and placed me down on the floor.
"Go and play with some dolls. I'll be back soon."

I nodded and ran away, heading towards the garden.
I picked up two of my dolls off the kitchen counter and cradled them in my arms as I walked outside and into the garden.

I sat down onto the grass, crossing my legs over myself. It was warm outside and the sun beat down onto me. The foil from my dads birthday banner reflected, from the slide in the garden, shining against it.

I grew bored quickly, throwing the dolls onto the grass, and climbing to my feet.
I ran up the stairs, and into my bedroom, looking around quickly. My daddy had got me a bear teddy when I was born and I've had it ever since. I looked around and jumped onto my bed, pulling the cover back. The teddy wasn't there.

"Daddy!!" I shouted, running out of my room and into the hallway. He wasn't in the hallway, where he usually stood, looking confused about something. He would always come running to me when I needed help.

"Daddy! Where are you?" I called out again, but he didn't make an appearance.

I heard a bang come from his bedroom , so I ran towards the end of the hall, and pushed the door open. He wasn't in there.
What?
I pushed open the door wider and saw the bathroom door, that was connected to his bedroom. The door was barely open but it was enough for me to see him.

"Are you in the shower?" I called out, but he didn't answer.
I stomped my foot on the floor, and threw myself down onto his bed.
"Where are my toys daddy? Have you seen my bear?"
He didn't answer. I sat up and threw a pillow onto the floor. I sat on top of the pillow, waiting for his reply.
