Cas' head snapped up when he heard a knock at the door. "Castiel. Please. I need to talk about what happened." Dean sat on the foot of Cas' bed. Cas did everything he could as to not make eye contact with Dean.
"Cas please just-"
"Dean!" Cas yelled, louder than he ever had before. "Can't you get that I just don't want to talk to you? I'm mad at you! I'm pissed off! You kissed me, Dean! Why don't you understand that when somebody is giving you the cold shoulder, and ignoring you, it means they don't want to talk to you!"Dean smiled, trying to hide how much that hurt him. "Cas you didn't stutter." Cas began shaking and his face turned blood red. "Are you kidding me?!" He roared. "That is all you got? Dean Winchester, get out of my life."
Classes resumed and Dean didn't see Castiel unless they were both in the dorm. Charlie didn't see her Sprinkle at all. On week three, Dean had enough. He sat on the counter when Cas was brushing his teeth.
"Castiel Novak. You are way too damn good at ignoring me and it's driving me crazy. We need to talk about that damn kiss. We can't just-"
"Why do we need to?" Cas whispered. "What?" Dean's eyes widened. "Why do we need to talk about it?" Dean sighed and looked Cas in the eye."I liked it Cas. And I want more." Cas looked up. "Dean, one thing you don't know is for the past month, I have resumed my workout regiment and have built my body back to what it once was. For your own sake, leave me alone."
"What are you saying Cas?"
"I'm saying if, at any point in time, I could kick your ass."Dean smiled. "Cas, I've missed talking to you." Cas smiled mockingly before turning it into a scowl. "Don't get used to it."
He walked out of the bathroom and started to change. Dean stared at Cas in the mirror, trying and failing to be subtle. Cas didn't lie. At all. He was ripped. Maybe more than Dean. Cas looked in the mirror and locked eyes with Dean. "Told you."
Dean's entire face lit on fire and erupted with a red blush. He felt it creep down on his neck and all he could do was stare.
The next day, Dean had had enough. He missed Cas. He missed talking to him, laughing with him. He lost his best friend before they could even be best friends.
The last class of the day, Dean sat in the back and Cas sat in the front. Cas hadn't even glanced in his direction since his little 'told you' the previous day. Five minutes until the bell rang. Dean stood up. He'd really had enough. "Castiel Novak!" he yelled walking up to the front of the class.
"You haven't had a real conversation with me in over a month. Without you, all these damn girls are swooning over me and my awesomeness! They can't even hear what I'm saying!"
He winked at a bunch of girls that were making googly eyes at him. They all sighed and smiled. "My point has been proven." Dean sighed before continuing."Please! Just talk to me, man! I miss you and I-" the bell rang and everybody got up. Some gave Dean fist bumps, playful shoves, or laughs and Cas just stayed in his seat, his face redder than Dean had ever seen it before.
After everyone had cleared out, Cas walked up to Dean. His face had returned to his normal color, and his voice came out perfectly calm. "I'll see you in the dorm, Dean."
Dean's heart fluttered. Cas was talking to him again and he couldn't be happier.
"Cas I really missed you, man."
"I uh... I missed your c-company aswell D-Dean." Dean sighed before sitting down at the small table. He motioned for Cas to do the same."Your stutters back," he said matter-of-factly. "It's a package deal with the anxiety." Dean sighed again, running his hands over his face. "I make you anxious don't I?"
Cas hesitated before shaking his head. "Yes. You do Dean."
"Cas can I tell you something really important?" Castiel nodded, worry blooming in his chest. "I get anxiety when I'm with you too."Cas tilted his head ever so slightly. "Why?"
"If I say it, you have to promise not to ignore me for weeks again. I just got you back and I can't lose you again." Castiel thought about it before nodding. "Fine," he said with a small smile."You drive me crazy Cas." He said slowly, drawing out each word. "You drive me absolutely crazy. Ever since I laid my eyes on you, ever since I saw your eyes, your hair, ever since I heard your name and your voice, I've been obsessed with you. This entire month has driven me crazy. I care about you so much and every little thing you do drives me insane Cas. And we kissed and Charlie told us to but I... I told Charlie to dare you. I told Charlie to get you to kiss me because I can't make the move myself and I'm sorry about that but I just needed you to know how much I cared about you and-"
Dean got cut off when Cas leaned over the table and gently put his lips on Dean's. "I like you too Dean." Dean's face twisted in confusion. "That's not what I said. I said how much I care about you and how crazy you drive me but I never said-" Cas raised an eyebrow. "Holy shit... Castiel, I... I like you."
Cas smiled and licked his lips, not missing the way that Dean's eyes tracked his tongue.
"Castiel Novak... I Dean Winchester... like you."Cas smiled, warmth blossoming in his chest. "I like you too you... noodle."
"Did you just call me a noodle?" Cas nodded with a shy smile. "I think I did you dumbass noodle.""Why am I a dumbass all of a sudden?" Cas sighed and breathed out a chuckle. "Because it took you this long to tell me you liked me." Dean smiled.
"This is a sin isn't it?" Dean's smile fell from his face and Cas' face reddened. "Why because it's gay?" he spat. Dean coughed. "No no no no no!" he cried. "Because I told you I liked you before the first date... I was supposed to wait until marriage."
Cas laughed. It started with a small chuckle, and it grew to a roaring belly laugh before Cas gave Dean a quick peck on the lips. "Then before anything else happens, I guess you need to take me on a date." Dean smiled.
"I guess I do."
When Cas went back to his room for the night, Dean sat alone on his bed. He sighed and thought. It was all just going really fast.
I guess I do. he thought.
