Castiel went on many more dates with Dean and they all made his stomach flutter. Dean introduced Cas to everyone. Sam, Jessica, Bobby, and even his Dad. It was going so well that Cas thought it may have been too perfect. Then they had their first fight.

"Dean I'm not just gonna sit and watch while you flirt with all of those girls! It's not fair to me!"
"Not fair to you?" Dean roared. "It's just who I am Cas! I can't turn it off!" Cas' face turned bright red. He could feel the heat rising from his neck. "Maybe you should learn how to respect me," he mumbled, angry tears filling up his eyes. "Maybe you should quit being so damn sensitive! What do you want from me man? We've been dating for three months, and this is our first fight. Obviously, we've been doing something right."

Cas' jaw tightened. "Well... maybe I don't want to do it anymore!" Dean's face fell. "Cas... you... you don't mean that man... come on we'll go get dinner or something." Dean looked over at the clock. It was nine at night. "Cas?" Cas sighed and threw his hands over his face. "I'm gonna go for a walk. We'll talk when we've both calmed down a little bit."

Cas walked out of the dorm and slammed the door behind him. He got out his phone a dialed Charlie. "Charlie please don't talk. Just listen. Dean and I got into a fight and I just need you to go make sure he's not shooting the wall."
"Sprinkle..."
"Charlie..." he growled warningly.
"Okay. I can do that." Cas' shoulders released some of the tension they were holding in.
"Thank you." he sighed. He tucked his phone in his pocket and walked outside.

His keys were still in the room and there was no way he was going back there just to get them. It was late so he took his phone out and used it as a flashlight, and just started walking. He had lost track of time and when he realized he had been zoned out the whole time he clicked on his phone screen to display the time. He had been walking for a couple of hours.

He had to get home. He looked around and realized he was utterly and completely lost. He could call Dean, but he could still be mad. He was probably still with Charlie anyway, and Castiel didn't want to interrupt their therapy session.

There was only one person left that he could call.

"Castiel?"
"Hey, Sam..."
"Are you okay man? Is Dean okay?" Cas nodded but then shook his head when he realized Sam couldn't see him. "We got in a fight and uh... I kinda went for a walk hours ago and now I'm lost... do you think I could get a ride?" Sam chuckled. "Yeah, I'm tracking your phone. I'm honestly surprised it took you guys this long to start fighting. Dean's kind of a hot head. He must really like you." Cas blushed.

A couple of moments of uncomfortable silence passed. "Okay Cas you're actually like five minutes away from the hotel I'm at. I'm on my way."
"Oh, shit am I interrupting something important?" Sam chuckled again. "Nah I'm with my old man... he's working so I could use a break anyway. I'm on my way." Cas sighed in relief. "Thank you Sam... thank you."

The phone clicked and Cas was left by himself again. In four minutes, he waved when he saw Sam.

Cas slid into the car and sighed. "Thank you. I... I'm sorry. I appreciate it." Sam just smiled. "Cas, really. It's fine."

Sam pulled into a gas station. "I'll be right back." Cas nodded and pulled out his phone. It was really late... early really. Cas looked up just as a car was heading straight for him. His eyes widened. Screeching metal filled his ears. He heard a muffled voice call his name before pain erupted everywhere. Everything went black.

Cas woke up and looked around. His body felt like jelly and his mouth felt like it was filled with cotton.

"How are you Castiel?" her voice was muffled. "I'm fine." So was his. "Sam? Where is he? Is he okay?" the nurse nodded. "He's fine. Don't worry. It's you that we're worried about."

The nurse sighed before diving into her explanation. "Seeing an accident like that can be... detrimental. Not only on the ears but on the heart. You may be suffering from not only going deaf in one or both ears, but your heartbeat is... irregular." Cas nodded. "Okay but what about Sam?"

The nurse shook her head. "Castiel, I ask that you call somebody that knows you for an emergency contact."

Cas tightened his jaw and nodded. "Cas? What the hell man? It's been almost two days!" Two days?
" Where the hell are you?" Cas sighed. "I'm in the hospital." Cas could hear Dean's breath quicken. "Are you okay?"
"Dean I'm fine... just please get here as fast as you can."

The line clicked dead. Cas lost all sense of time, or so it seemed. One moment, he was at the car crash, then he was at the hospital, then Dean was by his side.

"Cas? Can you hear me?" Cas' head snapped in Dean's directions. "Yes," he said shortly. "I don't believe you," Dean said quietly. "Why?"
"Because I asked you nine times."

Cas sighed. "Mr.Winchester, he needs to sleep so that we can give him more morphine. It's starting to wear off." Cas didn't notice anything until he said that, but a sharp pain was working its way up his ribcage.

Dean looked at Cas with concern flooding from his face. Blackness filled Castiel's vision and he began floating.
