Prince AU.

Taehyung, known most as Prince V, tried keeping his panting breaths at peace when he heard footsteps making way to him. He swallowed harshly, listening carefully to the soft yet audible footsteps in the halls of the castle.

Taehyung finally took a step out from his hiding, holding his sword out to the person and swinging the heavy metal blade. His instructor, Hoseok, clashed the Prince's sword with his own, battling out with the young Prince.

Taehyung showed a slight smirk as both of their blades clashed against one another, making sheer noises and loud clangs that filled the empty halls of the castle. Hoseok suddenly turned, catching the young prince off guard. The older man turned back and swung his blade straight out, almost touching the young Prince's body and slashing his skin to shreds.

Taehyung froze in his spot, knowing that if he moved he'll be shredded to bits. He looked up to his instructor and friend who had a heart shaped smile on his face, slowly withdrawing the sword from the Prince's abdomen. "Good effort on the surprise attack," Hoseok said as he slipped his sword back into its case. "But you have some more technique to learn."

Taehyung did the same while sighing in defeat. He leaned his back against the pillar he hid behind while looking to his instructor. He whined, "I don't want to practice anymore! We've been practicing all day."

"Fine," Hoseok complied, letting out a low chuckle. "What do you want to do now?"

Taehyung wiped the sweat off from his temple. "We could walk around the market."

Hoseok raised an eyebrow, almost in disbelief. "The citizen's market?" Taehyung nodded. "No, no, no," Hoseok shook his head. "Your parents would kill me if they found out you were around the citizens again."

Taehyung rolled his eyes. He grew annoyed at his parents's strict rules. All the boy wanted to do was run free wherever he wanted in the country. He was tired of always being stuck in the stuffy castle with nothing to do but lay and watch the blank ceiling. If he was going to be king of his country one day, he wanted to know what his people were like and how he can make his kingdom better. But his parents saw otherwise; they didn't want him anywhere near the citizens.

"Who cares what they say? Besides, it'll only be for a little while," Taehyung reassured his older friend. "We'll just walk around the market and come back before they even notice."

"And what if they question where we're going?" Hoseok asked, raising an eyebrow.

"We'll take the horses and say we're going out for a quick ride towards the forest. Now come on," Taehyung said and began to make his way towards the field where the horses were kept outside of the castle. "If you're that afraid of being caught, the sooner we leave, the better."

Hoseok watched the young prince walk ahead of him as he sighed to himself, having no other choice but to follow him. Taehyung wasn't the one to demand what he wanted but is very stubborn. Hoseok knew what would happen if he didn't listen to his majesty.

The two men made their way to the field where the horses were being kept. Taehyung walked over to his favorite white horse, petting it's neck and long mane. The horse leaned into his touch, recognizing the familiar loving touch from the Prince. Taehyung showed a soft smile before hooking the gear onto the horse's head.
