I am headed out of town for work tomorrow (Sunday) and won't be back until Friday. Please do not bitch at me for not updating during the week. That's why I am getting updates out before I leave so it can hold you guys over until I get back. I'm not ditching you it's just work calls. So please understand. I'm getting pretty tired of the rude readers coming back out.

--

I woke up early the next morning. I took a quick shower and put on a pair of jeans and a sweater before tying my hair up into a tight bun. I wanted to unpack the rest of my things so I didn't have to worry about it until I needed to repack it when I left.

I unzipped a couple of my suitcases and sighed. It seemed like I had packed a ton of clothing for only a couple months of being up here. I pulled out a couple shirts and started unfolding them so I could hang them up in the closest. "Two down," I said to myself.

I slowly finished the first suitcase and started on the next. I stopped for a quick second to grab my phone and plug it into the dock so I could play some music. The packing seemed to speed up after that. The music was giving me motivation to move around the house.

A knock at the door made me jump. I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. My sweater had fallen off my shoulder and had exposed the bruise that was still slowly healing. I tried adjusting my sweater as I opened the door. I gasped and quickly pulled it around me tighter trying to hide the bruise.

Norman was leaning against the doorway with a small smile on his face. "Hey," he said softly. I gave him a small smile in return. "Hey there," I said while opening the door a little more to let him in. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything," he said as he kicked off his shoes.

I walked through the house with him hot on my heels. "No, you're not. I was just unpacking some more," I said. I gestured to the big plushy chair in my bedroom and Norman plopped down in it. "You brought a lot of shit," he said. I chuckled and gave a slight nod.

"I'm a girl, what do you expect?" I asked rhetorically. I heard the flick of a lighter and soon smelled the light hint of cigarette smoke. I turned around and cocked my eyebrow at Norman. He had gotten comfortable quite quickly. I rolled my eyes and turned back to my suitcases.

It didn't take long for me to get everything unpacked and I tucked my suitcases away in the closest. I groaned and flopped back on the bed. I had turned my music off and now it was silent in the room. "Finally, all done," I said breaking the silence between us.

I heard Norman shift and before I knew it I felt his weight sink into the bed. My breath stopped for a second. Our arms brushed against each other and I turned on my side and propped myself up on my elbow to keep my distance from him. Norman mirrored me.
