I woke up early the next morning to my phone going off. I rolled over and slid my glasses on. I unlocked the text message to see that it was from Mark. He sent me the address and what time I needed to be at the hair salon. I had no clue what they were going to do to me.

I quickly got out of bed and made my way to the conjoining bathroom. I took such a hot shower that when I got out my skin was red. I wrapped a towel around my head then I wrapped my body in a big fluffy towel. I cleared the fog on the mirror and sighed. I had about an hour to get ready.

I didn't see a point in styling my hair seeing as someone else was going to do it so I threw it up in a wet bun. I applied some simple make up before walking back into my bedroom and stepping into my walk in closet. I found some jeans and a slightly larger band tee shirt to throw on.

I tied the bottom of it in a knot before heading down the hall and into the kitchen. As I started digging for something to eat for breakfast there was a knock on my door. I knew it was Norman. We were in the middle of nowhere. It couldn't be anyone else.

"Hey," I said as I opened the door. I looked him up and down quickly before opening the door some more to let him in. As he walked past me, I took him in some more. He was wearing gray washed out jeans with some brown boots and a tight black shirt that he had the sleeves pushed up to his elbows.

I wasn't going to lie. He looked good. "I hope I wasn't interrupting anything," he said. I shook my head as he jumped up on the barstool in the kitchen. "Nope, I was just looking for some breakfast before heading out," I said. I turned my back to him to continue to dig through the cabinets.

"Are you hungry?" I asked him. I glanced over my shoulder to make sure he heard me before turning around again. "I don't want you to have to cook up something special," he said. I chuckled and turned around to face him with my hands on my hips.

"I was going to offer you some Cheerios," I said, eliciting a smile from Norman. I reached higher in the cabinet feeling my shirt ride up and I quickly adjusted it. "Did you sleep okay?" I asked him just trying to keep the conversation going. I pulled out the box.

"Like a rock. It's so peaceful up here," he said. I nodded as I grabbed a bowl from another cabinet. "Last night was fun too, ya know getting to know you better," he said. I felt my face become a little red. "Yeah, it was," I said. It suddenly felt awkward.

I noticed that he was embarrassed for some reason because he started folding a napkin that was on the bar over and over. It seemed like he felt out of place here, at my house, this early in the morning. I hopped up on the barstool across from him. He finally looked up at me.
