Why

The first interrogation has come and passed and was a general success, Eliza is still in a hit of shock over what Kazuo was turning a blind eye to, but she refuses to completely believe it, not until they have more proof.

Yuki and Dina have taken the information acquired to formulate a better rumor for the next few months and a better dissemination plan. Those girls never cease to amaze Eliza; Irene has been having weekly tea's with Eliza in the garden and Sasha has been busy at school.

Akito being the best has started to build a crib for the baby with his own two hands. Eliza offers to help with it but he's very protective of her and won't let her spend so much time kneeling of bent over, in fact as time goes by he dislikes the idea of her being at the front of the interrogations less and less, but it's Eliza's choice and he can't make her change her mind.

Akito has also taken some time to visit Eliza's family as she is mostly in bed or in the garden, doctors orders. When he found out about what happened to Azusa he threatened to kill the person, when Azusa told him what Eliza did he then joked about it and assured him the girl was probably alright.

"She scares me sometimes" Azusa confides to Akito one day when he visits, they're walking in the garden that Iori maintains on the roof.

"Don't tell her I said this but, me too" Akito agrees "sometimes I feel she's burning herself out, going at a faster pace than she can maintain" Azusa nods his head in agreement

"But try telling her that" he chuckles "she'll turn into an angry animal and pounce" Akito laughs and grabs his shoulder in a brotherly way

"She's a feisty one" he chuckles

"Why did you marry her?" Azusa asks after a couple seconds of silence

"It was in the best interest of my Family" Akito says simply as if he were stating the time, he sighs and runs his hand through his hair "I'm not entirely sure to be honest. At first it was duty, strategy, but then when I met her... when she was thrown at my feet, I expected to see someone scared or trembling, and she was but not because she was afraid" Akito stops and takes a deep breathe, they sit beneath the cherry tree in the middle of the garden

"Even there on the ground bloody and beaten up she had the most determined look in her face and her eyes were as cold as ice, I knew right then that she would kill everyone inside that warehouse without hesitating just to save her family, maybe even just out of spite; and that if she had the chance she would track me down and skin me alive" Akito smiles fondly at the memory "I fell in love with her right there and I also became terrified of her, I knew I had made a mistake so I fled and let those men die. Then we met again under more civilized circumstances and she had the most extraordinary mask on, I even thought for a minute that the girl at the warehouse and the girl in front of me were not the same person, could not be the same person"

"I've never seen that other side of her" Azusa says smiling when he looks at Akito's face as he talks about Eliza

"Pray you never do Azusa she is truly terrifying" Akito smiles and continues his story "eventually I managed to wedge myself under the walls that she kept up around and I saw someone that was just as strong on the inside as on the outside. Eliza is everything she shows to the world and more, after I managed to know her better I understood why Kazuo had given her the last name that he did. Once you get past the hostility, she's as clear as water and I love her for it"

"Why did you chose her Family and not the others?" Azusa asks picking up a fallen flower and stroking the petals, he's very talkative that day and Azusa is glad to be a distraction for him
