Confess

It seems like forever when Doc finally comes for her. She's still holding her belly, her hands still bloody with her husbands blood. She's been pacing for a while now, the sound of the door startled her and she turns

"Eliza" Doc starts quietly approaching her with calm. Eliza stares at him with wide eyes

"He's out of danger" Doc says. Eliza falls to her knees as the news sinks in, she holds herself with her hands to keep from laying completely on the floor

"Thank you" Eliza whispers tears pooling in her eyes "may I see him?" Doc shakes his head but Eliza isn't looking at him

"No" he says "he's out of immediate danger but the situation is still delicate. Akito is also asleep we don't know when he'll wake up"

"I understand" Eliza whispers shaking slightly as exhaustion takes over her body. She takes a deep breath over and over until she finds the strength to get up. Eliza walks past Doc and tells the Family member poised at the door

"Send a message to the other Families I'm calling an immediate meeting" the turns around and goes into the bathroom to change. Eliza doesn't have time to break down just yet she has to finish this.

An hour later the other two families have arrived. They gather on the grounds in a sort of pavilion in the middle of the Family estate. There are nine poles set in a straight line with nine people tied to them, their heads covered in white hoods. The Heads, Ana and Takumi stand at the front of the crowd their faces blank and unrevealing.

Eliza appears from the side wearing a long red dress that shows her stomach proudly. He heads held high and she holds a gun in her hand a very nice and pointed dagger in the other.

"Before you stand nine traitors to the Family, not mine but to the Family" she motions to everyone gathered before her as one unit, one Family "the Family that in times of grief supports each other and in times of war respects each other. These nine people stand before us accused of murdering Kazuo, Hokubu, and Akane" there's murmuring throughout the crowd and shifting of feet.

"Bring them forward!" Ana orders there's a shuffling of her people but her guards emerge with eight more people who struggle against their hold

"Flood them out!" Takumi orders, his people move as well in an organized, disorganized manner and push out five people who fall to their knees. Eliza's guards take these new people and bind their wrists behind their backs. They make them kneel facing the Families and stake their hands to the ground. They all struggle against their bonds but they can't break free.

Eliza holds her hand up, the one with the dagger and they fall silent. One of her people removes the first persons white hood. Irene stands quietly and placid. She bows her head at the Heads who turn their eyes from her refusing her bow.

"Confess" Eliza demands

"I have done nothing wrong" Irene says making Takumi hiss angrily "I did it to save my Family and the city. I regret nothing" the hood is placed back on her head

"Ana, Takumi please join me for the final judge" Eliza says calmly even though inside she's boiling with rage, if it were up to her she would shoot them all and leave them to rot, but protocol prevents her, tradition and respect for the other families prevents her from passing judgment alone.

Ana and Takumi stand next to her. Ana takes out her own gun and Takumi as well, though his gun is bright blue with intricate seashell design on the barrel

"Do we agree?" Eliza asks raising her gun and taking aim

"We do" Ana and Takumi says at the same time, Eliza turns slightly to look at Yuki, Dina and Sasha. Yuki is the first to nod, Sasha is crying but nods as well Dina makes a gun with her hand and pulls the trigger.

Gun shots echo across the grounds and blood soon soaks the earth.

"Take your traitors" Eliza tells Ana and Takumi "dispose of them as you wish, it's over" they nod and Ana squeezes Eliza hands, she leans in and whispers in her ear

"Congratulations" she smiles "you've not let me down" Eliza smiles gently and nods she leaves with her Family and the bodies. Takumi kisses her cheeks and pats her stomach

"You're secret is always safe with me" Eliza whispers "forgive me for abusing my knowledge"

"If I were you I would have destroyed me, you have noticing to apologize for" Takumi smiles and leaves with his Family and the bodies.

"What should we do with the bodies?" Jasmine asks

"Dig a ditch and throw them in, burn the bodies and cover the hole" Eliza orders and she nods "bring Irene to the morgue and prepare her body. Akito will want to say goodbye when he wakes" she turns around and walks away, the others starts working and the rest go back to their posts and whatever they were doing before

"Eliza there's something that we've been meaning to ask you" Jasmine says slowly

"What about?" Eliza asks

"Doc doesn't think Tony will ever wake" she starts "what do you wish to..."

"Call his daughter and have her decide" Eliza says Jasmine nods and leaves her.

Eliza arrives to her bedroom and takes off her clothes, she climbs into bed and passes out, letting all the exhaustion of the past 48 hours finally take its toll. She sleeps for three days straight.
