Sick

Akito wakes up early the next day and finds Eliza fast asleep, he kisses her forehead and heads into the shower. He comes out half dressed to get different shirt and Eliza is still asleep, but the light from the bathroom hits her face and Akito backtracks, he frowns and kneels beside her he touches her forehead, it's beaded with sweat and it's painfully hot.

"Jasmine!" He yells and takes the covers off of her, Jasmine enters at once "get the doctor!" He barks and she leaves. The bed is drenched in sweat and now Akito Can see her slight shiver that begins to increase since the covers are off. He runs to the bathtub and fills it with lukewarm water. He goes back into the bedroom and her shivering has increased drastically, her eyes are still closed but they move rapidly under her eyelids. Akito starts to take off her pants and shirt, leaving her in underwear and tank top.

The doctor enters his bag in his hand, his face calm

"What happened?" He asks kneeling beside Eliza and taking out his stethoscope

"I took a shower and when I came out i saw her forehead all sweaty, she's burning up" Akito says "I've filled the tub with water"

"Good, help me take her" doc says and they transfer her to the tub "the priority now is to lower her temperature" Eliza shivers even harder when her skin touches the water that must feel like ice daggers piercing her skin. She moans in pain and her eyes shoot open she grabs the sides of the tub and vomits onto the floor. She sinks back into the tub her head almost going under.

"Keep her upright" doc instructs "I need ice" jasmine who's at the door nods and rushes out. She's not even gone for five minutes when she returns with others and ice. The pour the ice into the water. Doc checks her pulse and heart again

"They're both faint" he says "I need to take her to the medical building" Akito nods and wraps Eliza into a towel and carries her there.

The medical building is basically a small hospital, with the most up to date technology and instruments. The tub there is already filled with water and ice. Akito lowers her back down and she shivers again, although she doesn't vomit but her eyes are still closed.

"What's wrong with her doc?" Akito asks his voice as hard as stone

"I'm not sure" he says and proceeds to draw blood "I'll need to run tests" he then wheels around an IV bag and inserts it in her hand. Eliza barely stirs. Doc injects some vitamins and minerals into the IV.

"Now we wait for her fever to break" doc says and sends the blood sample with a nurse "hopefully the fever will break and the results will be here at the same time, then I'll know what we're facing" Akito nods solemnly. He sits down on the flor and holds Eliza's other hand.

A half an hour has passed and her trembling hasn't diminished. Akito's sisters have heard the news though and they barge into the room at full speed.

"How is she?" Irene asks

"Has her fever gone down yet?" Yuki asks

"How's the baby?" Sasha asks nervously

"Akito how are you doing?" Dina asks sitting down beside him.

Akito stares at his sisters as they gather around him and touch his back or arms soothingly

"What happened?" Irene asks quietly

"I don't know" Akito says in a low voice "I woke up took a shower and when I came out she looked really pale. Her forehead was burning and I got the doc as soon as I could" he takes a deep breath "he's running some test. There's nothing I can do until the fever breaks" his voice breaks at the end and Sasha wraps his arms around him tightly. Akito hugs his little sister back and she wipes some tears from Akito's face
