Two worlds brothers-conflict book 2

Blood

Akito and his sisters, except Sasha, are brought to Eliza's room in miraculously four minutes. 

"What's wrong?!" Akito asks as soon as he steps past the door frame, he goes immediately to her stomach but Eliza is pacing and doesn't stand still, so Akito takes a step back confused. Irene, Yuki, and Dina storm into the bedroom seconds after guns in their hands

"What's going on?" Irene asks eyeing the room warily, Eliza stops pacing and throws the photos she's been clutching onto the bed. Akito and his sisters approach the bed and stare at the photos. 

There's silence.

"I am disappointed" Eliza says trying to keep her voice under control but hatred seeps into her voice anyway "very disappointed" she cocks her gun and loads it. The four of them turn around slowly and stare at the gun. Eliza's fingers poised lazily beside the trigger 

"Please" Akito whispers holding his hands up and slowly moving in front of Irene "love, put the gun down"

"Get out of the way Akito" Eliza says, Yuki and Dina have moved away from their sister, Yuki looks disappointed and Dina looks genuinely shocked.

"Eliza please put the gun down, we can talk about this" Akito says again, his voice urgent and with a slight tone of dispair

"Move" Eliza sneers "I will not ask a second time" she moves her finger to the trigger, her hand as steady as ever. Akito opens his mouth but Irene puts her hand on his shoulder and steps out from behind him. She gets down on her knees, and lays her hands one over the other on her knees. She maintains eye contact with Eliza all the while

"I don't regret anything" Irene says calmly "the Family's had to be purified, starting from the top"

"You were my sister" Eliza hisses "he opened his family to yours and accepted you, and in gratitude you stab him in the back"

"I blew him up" Irene corrects "I blew them all up, for you, for both of you, so we could start fresh as a new Family, a better Family, stronger than before and better than the others. With us at the head this city would have prospered" Eliza shakes her head and takes a deep breath.

She pulls the trigger.

Dina screams.

Irene falls.

Blood.

There's a ringing in everyone's ears after the gunshot, the blood spills onto the carpet, bright red, filling the room with the smell of copper. Dina runs forward as if in slow motion, Yuki falls to her knees her eyes wide with shock. The scream pierces the ringing and is the first thing Eliza hears again.

Akito lies on the floor blood pooling from underneath him. A bloody rose appearing slowly onto his white shirt. His hands clutch his stomach and his eyes look at Irene who stares at her brother in shock and disbelief, she can't move. 

Eliza screams again and throws herself onto Akito's body

"Get the Doctor now!" she screams with such force that the guards outside the house have heard the order. Akito's breathing has become slightly labored, Eliza stares at him in panic she stares at his wound and at him and holds her hands above his stomach, not knowing what to do. When her fingers come away red she is snapped out of her shock.

"Hand me the sheets, the towels, anything!" she yells, taking off her own shirt and pressing it into the wound as hard as she can in an attempt to stop the bleeding

"Akito stay with me" she whispers tears rolling freely down her cheeks "stay with me bay don't leave me don't" 

"Irene" he whispers and reaches out to her, Irene still shocked moves her hand towards him 

"Don't touch him!" Eliza hisses and smacks her hand away 

"Eliza please" Akito smiles at his wife "forgive her"

"I can't" Eliza shakes her head "I can't" Akito nods and blinks, slowly 

"Akito" Irene says softly 

"Don't say his name!" Eliza yells "this is all your fault!" she cries, Yuki snaps out of her trance and has begun to treat Akito's wound moving Eliza's hands away. With her hands free Eliza slaps Irene 

"Get out!" she yells 

"Eliza" Akito whispers and Eliza melts, her body shaking with fear and heavy with tears 

"I'm right here" Eliza cries lifting his head and placing it gently on a fallen pillow, she leans over him trying to smile but fails

"Eliza" Akito smiles and cups her cheek, she leans her head into his touch "I love you"

"Don't say that," she hiccups "don't say it like its a goodbye. Don't leave me Akito, I need you, I can't do this alone please"

"I don't know what will happen but you are strong Eliza" he smiles "you can do anything"

"Don't leave me" she whispers 

"I love you I truly do" Akito smiles and pulls her down for a kiss "please forgive her Eliza, she's my sister" he whispers into her ear after the kiss

"I...I don't think I can do that love" Eliza sniffs "I can't..."

"Shh" Akito says softly smiling through the pain "it's okay. It's okay" 

"I love you" Eliza says shakily "I love you so much Akito"

"I'm glad to hear that" Akito smiles and closes his eyes 

"Akito!" Eliza yells and shakes him

"Got ya" he whispers cracking his eyes open a little 

"That's not funny" Eliza shakes her head crying harder

"I'm sorry" Akito says chuckling slightly making Eliza chuckle as well. The door slams open, Doc along with a small medical group enter, Family behind them as well, guns out. They surround the sisters and secure the premises. Doc shouts orders and gets everyone organized. They've brought a gurney. Eliza sits fazed as she watches them lift Akito onto the gurney, he grunts with pain. Eliza stares after them as they leave for the hospital. The Family stays behind guarding them.

Eliza stands shakily and takes a deep breath, filling herself with steel and strength 

"Seize her and throw her in the Lions Den" Eliza orders pointing at Irene who's still on the ground. The Family grabs her and pulls her up, they restrain her hands "top security" Eliza adds and the Family leaves

"Eliza" Dina says softly but Eliza turns to the other Family members 

"Bring me all the people in those photographs" she continues ordering "alive" the Family nods and takes the photographs with them when they leave

"Eliza" Dina tries again 

"Did you know?" Eliza asks, taking long stride to them and staring them down "if you lie, there's no one else to jump in front of a bullet for you"

"No" Dina says softly

"No" Yuki states receding back slowly into shock. Eliza nods 

"Leave" she says softly "you're sister will be dealt with later" the remaining two Family members escort them back to their house. 

Eliza collapses onto the floor as the weight of everything that has just happened falls upon her, she stares at her blood covered hands and resumes crying.

"Please don't die" she says softly holding her belly with care.
