Him

Eliza doesn't bother to knock and just goes straight in. The elevator door dings and she steps out

"Hello?!" She calls out heading to the kitchen and grabbing an apple. The house is quiet

"Hello?!" She calls again "anyone home?" After having no answer she decides to go upstairs and check the levels to see if they're maybe in their rooms. Eliza hears some noise from Emma's room so she cracks the door open

"Sis?" She calla and almost spits out her apple, on the bed is Emma and a new guy, they pull apart and Emma blushes furiously. Eliza takes an amused bite from her apple and leans against the door frame

"Now I see why you didn't answer, you were busy" she says chewing slowly she eyes the guy who swallows nervously. Ema stands and kind of walks towards Eliza

"So who is he?" Eliza asks nodding towards the guy

"Eliza what are you doing here?" Emma asks

"Don't try to change the subject sis" Eliza smiles and points to the guy "his name"

"He's uh" Emma says nervously

"James" the guy on the bed says standing and holding out his hand

"Pleasure" Eliza says without shaking his hand

"Is he from your school?" Eliza asks Emma "how old is he? And how long has this," she says pointing to the the scene "been going on?"

"He has a name it's James, and I can answer that if you ask" James says crossing his arms over his chest

"I know your name, and if I address you I'll call you" Eliza says with a serious voice "but I'm not so sit down and shut up" James opens his mouth to protest and Eliza calmly scratches her head with the tip of her knife. James closes his mouth and sits down

"Eliza!" Emma whines

"What?" Eliza asks and looks at the knife "at least it wasn't my gun" she grumbles and puts it away

"Answers Emma" she says

"Uh we're the same age, he does go to my school but we're not in the same class" Emma counts the answers off her fingers "and this is actually new"

"So you just bring anyone into your room" Eliza raises her eyebrows

"We were studying" Emma whispers

"Well next time study in the living room preferably with Ukyo or Yusuke in the room" Eliza orders

"You can't order me around Eliza" Emma frowns

"I can and I will" Eliza says "I protect my family" she stares at James "at all costs and in all ways"

"I know but Eliza," Emma rolls her eyes "but,"

"Nothing Emma you are my family and that doesn't always mean that you're safe" Eliza rubs the bridge of her nose "it's kills me to know that but that's how things are. Just stay safe"

"I am" Emma smiles

"James" Eliza says turning to him "what're your intention with my sister?"

"I like her" James says standing "and I'm not sure where we might go but I like her"

"Are you scared of me?" Eliza asks and James swallows a bit hard

"Well I just realized that you're Eliza, heir to the Yamaguchi clan, and the future leader of the new united clans" James states calmly but his palms sweat "you're also married to Akito, leader of the lion clan, so yes you do make me nervous" Eliza raises her eyebrows and looks back to Emma

"I like him" she tells her and looks back at James "keep your hands to yourself and we'll be fine" she pats his shoulder and goes back to the door

"I'll be staying here for dinner, to say hi to everyone else" Eliza smiles "I'll be in my room if you need anything. This is your only free pass to be in this room alone" she walks out and starts closing the door "don't abuse it"

Eliza goes to her room and finds Mr. Neko asleep on her bed

"Hey ugly cat" she says stroking his head, he meows angrily "you decided to stay here" she says plopping down beside him, he whines and climbs onto her chest, Eliza pats him as he purrs and almost falls asleep. Instead she stands and goes back to Emma's room.

"Knock knock" she calls, the door opens and Emma stands there frowning

"Did I scare him away?" Eliza asks shyly

"Almost" Emma whines and pushes herself o off the door frame and lets Eliza in

"I'm sorry I guess I'm just a bit stressed" Eliza sighs and sits down on her bed "I didn't mean to come out so bossy I'm sorry, I'll call him and apologize"

"James, Eliza" Emma chuckles

"I know" Eliza smiles "so am I forgiven?" She asks and does her best puppy dog eyes Emma shakes her head and tackles her into the bed

"Of course you are" she says hugging her harder "we've missed you. I missed you"

"I know I'm sorry but now I can come here more often" Eliza smiles "we just had some protocol things and that's why I haven't come to say hi"

"Anything I can help with?" Emma asks and Eliza shakes her head, they pull apart and lay there in the bed

"I got a new tattoo though" Eliza says excited "I'm not allowed to show it yet but I had Julie take a picture" she hands Emma the phone

"It's beautiful" Emma says "who did it?"

"Julie she's the heirs and leaders tattooist" Eliza says "but tell me about him"

"Him?" Emma asks a bit nervously trying to act as if she doesn't know who Eliza is talking about. Eliza nudges her ribs and chuckles

"Yes him, James" Eliza asks and props herself on her elbow "tell me all about him" Emma turns red and doesn't answer for a while avoiding Eliza's eyes but eventually she gives and turns around and tells her everything.

Soon enough it's time for dinner and Eliza surprises all of them well not all of them since only a couple of her brothers live there but it's still a nice surprise. Wataru, especially, is excited to see her again but the one who cries is Tsubaki which makes everyone laugh and hug for at least five minutes.

After dinner they all go back to their rooms, Eliza goes to Emma's and they sleep together until she receives a phone call at four in the morning.

"Hello?" Eliza answers groggily

"Eliza?" A croaky voice says and coughs

"Who is this?" Eliza asks standing up immediately

"Peo..." the static cuts him off, when she can  hear again there's a lot of coughing, there's also noise in the background that Eliza can't figure out what it is "Peony" the voice croaks, Eliza's blood goes cold

"Location" she says as she gets her shoes "now!" She heads out. The elevator moves too fast for her and before she knows it she's out on the streets

"Location!" She repeats jogging, but the voice is silent and there's only background noise. She curses and turns on the gps, hurriedly typing in the passcode and name. It takes seconds for it to load but for Eliza it seems like hours. When it finally connects she starts running.
