after jimin had exasperatedly changed after almost throwing his phone into the toilet, he combed through his hair with his fingers, looking pretty decent. taehyung's clothes were still a bit too big on him, but other than that, they suited jimin quite well. jimin rejoined taehyung as both boys grabbed all of their stuff to head out."you look pretty good," taehyung smiled at the shorter boy as he pulled his shoes on. the latter couldn't help but blush a little; he was far from used to compliments.
"ah, thanks," jimin replied with a small smile as he grabbed his bag with all of his belongings, stepping out with taehyung and walking over to the elevator. "at least they kind of fit."
the two boys rode down to the bottom level and stepped out into the cool, autumn day. the streets were relatively quiet, which was surprising for a weekday morning. "the book store's around fifteen minutes away from here," jimin noted as he glanced down at his phone, checking the directions. "is that okay?"
taehyung nodded, randomly pulling out a small, silver camera. "that's fine! it gives me a chance to take lots of photos. i love photography, but i'm just an amateur."
jimin's eyes widened, impressed. "imagine having an actual hobby. couldn't be me."
jimin and taehyung's hands may or may not have brushed lightly a couple of times as jimin skipped down the street and taehyung casually snapped some photos of jimin and the city, though neither of the boys seemed to notice; within the three weeks of knowing each other, they had already grown to be relatively comfortable around one another.
in reality, that wasn't completely true.
jimin could feel his heart race a little faster each time his small fingers lightly touched taehyung's longer ones. each time they took a simultaneous step, a bead of sweat rolled down his forehead. each time taehyung took a photo of him, jimin felt himself smile, wider and wider. jimin knew this feeling all too much.
taehyung couldn't help but smile each time jimin glanced over at him, his grin cheering up the taller boy. each time jimin's feet hit the sidewalk as he skipped alongside him, taehyung couldn't help but feel a strange happiness bubbling up from within him. taehyung knew this feeling all too much.
but was it really possible to like someone they had met merely three weeks ago? someone whom they had first encountered over text message? someone who they had met face to face only a couple of times? both boys pondered this, but neither of them decided to dwell on it as they continued their way to the book store.
...
"can we leave yet? we've been here for three hours," taehyung chuckled as he took another sip from his third cup of coffee; there was a cafe conveniently located in the library. "you can continue reading at home."
jimin looked up from his pile of books, slightly disappointed. "fine," he muttered and crammed all of his new books into his small bag as best as he could. he then quickly yanked his phone out of his pocket, scanning over the new notifications. there were a couple of ominous ones, too, which jimin recognized to be his sister's number. quite vexed yet slightly inquisitive, jimin decided to open up his messages.
maybe: sis >> jimin?
maybe: sis >> im here
maybe: sis >> where are you
maybe: sis >> please respond
jimin's brows furrowed together as he immediately blocked the number; he then returned his attention to taehyung. "why do you dislike books so much anyway?"
