[trigger warning: abuse]
jimin let tears streak down his red face as he ran, his hands clutching his backpack tightly, turning his knuckles white. he had no idea what jongdae wanted; he truly hadn't talked to him in ages. and now, for the second time in his lifetime, he had been kicked out from his shelter and gotten his heart annihilated by a loved one for no reason. the poor boy was obviously in shock, for he felt no emotions nor feelings. the only thing he could hear was the blood roaring in his ears, along with the steady thump of his feet on the cracked pavement. jimin's life was pretty messed up.
unsure of where else to go, jimin decided to head back to his apartment, hoping that hoseok was at home. maybe he could give jimin advice; hoseok was typically the one to comfort him in stuff like this. the heartbroken boy had completely forgot about the threat of his parents in the sudden rush of events.
he arrived at his apartment rather quickly; since he ran, it took mere minutes. unsurprisingly, hoseok wasn't at home. he was probably still at yoongi's house or something of the sort; that's where hobi spent almost all of his time nowadays. jimin's yellow sticky-note still lay on his roommate's pillow, untouched. jimin let out a depressed sigh as he sat on his hard mattress and carelessly dropped his backpack to the floor, sending items scattering. he wasn't sure what to do with his life now; it was in shambles, just like his stuff on the floor.
after a couple of heartbeats, there was a loud knock on jimin's door. his heart leapt in hope; he figured it would be either hoseok or taehyung, coming to apologize. what he didn't expect was for his father to be standing there as he swung the door open.
"dad?" jimin let out a meek whimper as he began to back away, fumbling for his phone in the pocket of his jeans. he suddenly remembered why he had been in taehyung's house in the first place.
"i thought you'd be smart enough to run away from me," jimin's father growled, his eyebrows furrowed. the strong, sharp stench of alcohol wafted from his father's mouth. "guess you're just as stupid as always."
jimin's eyes widened as his father abruptly swung his fist at him, narrowly missing as jimin took yet another step back. the short boy whipped around and sprinted towards the large bathroom down the hall, conveniently locking himself in for the time being. he slid down the wall, hiding himself in a corner below the marble sink.
unfortunately, the wooden door proved to be ineffective. jimin's father sent a swift kick at the door, bringing it clattering down to the floor. jimin knew very well he was trapped. his heart beat wildly as waterfalls of sweat soaked his red face, mixing in with his salty tears. he mentally prepared his body to get a beating. as a last resort, he quickly texted the first person he could think of; obviously, it was taehyung.

jimin's father neared jimin and pulled him out from under the sink with a swift yank, throwing him across the floor. "you thought you could get away from me?" he snapped, delivering a strong kick into jimin's stomach.
powerless to fight back against such a strong man, jimin let out a rough cough, dropping his phone on the hard floor. jimin's father kicked his son's phone, sending it sliding across the floor until it hit the opposite wall with a loud thump. he bent down and reared his fist back before thwacking jimin's face.
jimin's hands automatically flew up to his nose, which was pouring with sticky blood from the impact. he let out another cry as his father continued to mercilessly beat him, delivering punches across his face and kicks against his stomach. jimin swore he heard a crack as his father gave an especially strong kick in his ribs. the white, tiled floor was slick with blood, sweat, and tears as jimin continued to cry; he closed his blackened eyes as his entire body shook with sobs. he curled up, hoping to shield his body from any further damage as his father hollered provocative insults at him.
everything hurt so bad as he suffered one punch after the other, too weak to fight back. he just wished he could stop existing. he wished he would die. there was nothing left to live for, anyway. his own boyfriend probably hated him. his family wished he had never been born. he wondered if anyone would actually miss him if he departed from this world. maybe his father would have the heart to kill him, right then and there. his own thoughts seemed to numb his pain.
the last thing he heard was an angry shout as taehyung stormed into the room, before jimin's father gave a hard kick against jimin's head, sending him into the null void of unconsciousness for the second time that day.
what a great way to start the year.
