taehyung and jimin strolled around on the quiet streets of hawaii, hand in hand, simply enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. the city was nothing but breathtaking. lights from the buildings surrounding them illuminated the streets. a cool, refreshing breeze swept in from the sea throughout the streets. the sky was a dusted orange as the sun began to set, disappearing over the horizon, just barely peeking out from behind the towering skyscrapers. the rest of the boys had decided to call it a day after the various activities, but jimin was eager to see the rest of the city and all of its delights.
"we should get souvenirs," taehyung suggested, pointing towards one of the many souvenir shops dotting the streets, still open despite the quiet hours of the evening.
jimin nodded as they entered a small and humble store, just across the street, filled to the brim with various toys and souvenirs.
"look at this," jimin gasped as he picked up two necklaces. both of the accessories had one side of a silver hibiscus. when put together, the flower was whole, shiny and beautiful in all of its glory.
"wow," taehyung smiled, flipping them over to check the price. "they're pretty cheap, too. wanna get them?"
jimin responded with an excited nod; they were a perfect way to symbolize the new couple's love for one another. and so, they bought it. as soon as they walked out of the small shop, they put on their matching necklaces, which fit together perfectly; the slight sliver of the sun reflected on the light pieces of metal, casting an orange hue upon them. deciding to call it a day, they headed back to their hotel, which fortunately wasn't too far away. they took the route by the boardwalk, which was full of amusement rides; a towering ferris wheel reached up to the sky, still spinning in the late hours of the day. dormant rollercoasters snaked through the air, casting original shapes on the ground. the waves were relatively serene, calmly crashing on the sand below. the wooden boardwalk was almost completely empty, save for a couple of straggling tourists.
jimin kicked off his sandals and ran down a wide staircase leading down to the ocean. he sprinted in, interrupting the calm waves of the ocean as he splashed through, sending water raining down.
taehyung followed his boyfriend, immediately getting splashed. he laughed, his teeth glistening in happiness as he got showered by the droplets of water. he whisked his hand through the water, sending water straight at jimin.
jimin gasped as his hair got drenched by the water. "i'll get you for that!" he giggled and splashed through the ice cold water, beelining straight towards taehyung.
taehyung bit the inside of his cheek and turned away, attempting to run away; jimin was too fast for him. the shorter boy leapt onto taehyung's back, scooping water on his head. taehyung lurched forward at the sudden weight, losing balance and toppling over. the taller boy crashed into the waves, taking jimin along with him.
their heads popped up from the ocean, their bodies completely submerged in the deep blue. both laughed, though they were obviously cold; their light clothes were completely soaked as they exited the water, their teeth chattering and lips blue.
"we should probably go back." taehyung wrapped one arm around jimin's shoulder, drawing him close, hoping to share any remaining body warmth between them.
jimin giggled in agreement as they headed back to their hotel, dripping wet. other tourists couldn't help but stare at them as they went back to their room, immediately changing out of the soaked clothes.
"i'm so tired," jimin mumbled as he crashed onto the hotel bed, his necklace clutched tightly in his hand, his pajamas cozy and warm. "but i'm hungry."
taehyung nodded sleepily and slid onto the bed, wrapping an arm around jimin's waist and throwing the duvet onto their legs. "same," he murmured into his boyfriend's ear, giving it a light nip. "i'll just call room service."
jimin let out a shaky breath at the sensual feeling, snuggling closer to taehyung. "i'm craving sushi," he whispered, his stomach growling.
"okay, that's fine with me. i'm too lazy to go anywhere, too." taehyung smiled and gave jimin's neck a long kiss before sitting up and dialing for room service.
due to high demands, the food wouldn't arrive for a while. they cuddled together, arms wrapped around one another and legs tangled, until a light knock at the door brought them back into reality.
taehyung stood up and walked over to receive the food. after paying, he made his way back over to jimin, popping a roll in his mouth. "wanna watch a movie?"
"thanks," jimin responded and stuffed as many rolls in his mouth as he could. "a movie would be great," he mumbled, his voice muffled.
jimin let his head rest on taehyung's chest as his hand groped for the remote on the bedside table. he turned on the widescreen television perched on the polished wall, somehow maneuvering his way into netflix.
as the introduction played, jimin tilted his head and stared into taehyung's pretty eyes. "hey, tae?" jimin smiled brightly, his eyes crescent moons.
taehyung raised his eyebrows, reaching his hand over to hold jimin's smaller one. "yeah?"
jimin opened his mouth ever so slightly, his eyes bright and shiny. "this is really random," he trailed off, his mind drifting back to the recent events involving him and taehyung. maybe the new couple were rushing things, but jimin knew that at this moment, his heart wanted taehyung and only taehyung.
"i think," he murmured. "i think i love you."
taehyung grinned, showing his famous box shaped smile. "well, i think i love you too," he responded, placing a soft kiss on jimin's lips, which had regained their plump, pink hue.
they eventually fell asleep just like that; empty plates covered in soy sauce sat by their sides as the movie continued to play, interrupted by quiet snores from the pair of exhausted boys. their hands remained latched to one another throughout the night. the bright lights of the city shone in through the open window. a refreshing breeze swept through, accompanying the relaxing sound of the echoing waves on the beach.
this was the definition of euphoria.
