C H A P T E R  T E N | She's His Savior

I HAD MY EAR PODS IN MY EARS as I mumbled the words to Mama by My Chemical Romance. When the chorus hit my ear drums, my voice turned high pitched and I did a little move likemost singers do when they reach the chorus.

I always believed that most of your problems would go if you dissolve your emotions in the notes of music and forget that world with problems ever existed.

Suddenly, a person came out of nowhere and held onto my arm in a protective hold. Yanking out of my earbuds, I frowned at the person that allowed this monstrosity to occur. I mean who could interrupt music? You're right. No one. You could imagine my surprise when I squirmed in discomfort at the sight of Delilah.

"Delilah?" I gulped. In the light of the day, there was a darkness around her that chilled me to death. The sort of darkness that didn't only covered her but webbed around her, shading all those around her. What was up with these Underworld girls that was so dark?

She bit her lips. "You're even hotter in the daytime"

I was uncomfortable by her choice of words. "I wasn't aware. Thank you."

She chuckled, her fingers tightly cut off all my circulation as I struggled to breathe around the beautiful girl in front of me. Her angular eyes narrowed further as she raked her eyes over my form. They landed on my converse and than at my glasses which were broken from the sides but taped to perfection by my dad. She delicately removed my glasses and than folded them back before pushing them inside her messenger bag.

"I kind of need my glasses. I can't see, you know. Everything becomes so blurry--"

"You'll get your glasses back only if you follow me, hottie."

I put a hand around my jaw to cover my crimson cheeks. With a harsh tug, I was yanked forward and than forcefully tugged through the masses of people. Everyone had their eyes glued on me. The arm of my hoodie became loose as I felt myself becoming hotter by seconds. These girls were the literal death of me. A random girl shook her head at me apprehensively. "Rest in peace, new kid. You will be missed."

I frowned and returned my attention  to Delilah who had this insane look in her eyes. "Where are you taking me?" I deepened my voice so she could hear my voice through the many voices.

"I'm not taking you anywhere. I'm just working on my orders." She turned around to cast me a mischievous look, her hold still not getting lose. Wait a second.

"What orders?" I began to get nervous.

"Natalie's."

The one who stole my first kiss and kind of unofficially made me cheat on...Cora. Natalie seems like a snake, to be honest. I kept my opinions to myself as I began to struggle under her tight hold. "Look, the school is important for me. I need to learn. It's important for people my age. The world is huge and education is essential to survive in this vast sphere of life."
