The next day came and Tegan woke up to a raging headache. Lifting up slightly she looked around noticing that she wasn't home. She tried to remember exactly where she was, until Avery entered the room with a glass of water and pain pills.
Smiling faintly Avery handed them over to her."I washed your clothes for you as well. They're in the bathroom on the counter next to a fresh towel and new toothbrush," Avery said before towards the door.
"Thank you," Tegan rasped.
Avery just nodded her head in appreciation before leaving out of the room completely. Timothy had came home late last night, but left early in the morning to head back into work. Though before he left, he and Avery talked for a while about Tegan being in the guest room and the baby.
He didn't mind Tegan sleeping in the guest room, and he was extremely excited about the baby. On the other hand, Avery was terrified. Not about giving birth, but about losing her baby afterwards. She couldn't lose another child. She'd lose her entire mind if she did.
Absentmindedly, Avery ran a hand over her stomach while sitting down on the living room couch.
"Momma will do everything in her power to keep you safe," she whispered.
Hearing someone come downstairs Avery looked up to see Tegan looking like a lost puppy. Standing she walked over to the other woman, but kept her distance.
"How did I get here," Tegan asked curiously.
"You drove here, drunk I might add. You knocked on the door, and when I opened it there you were; stumbling and asking me if my husband was home," Avery explained.
Avery could tell by the look on Tegan's face that all the memories of yesterday were coming back.
Running a hand through her curls Tegan shook her head, "I'm so sorry for showing up unannounced. This is embarrassing."
Biting the inside of her cheek, Avery waved it off,
"You don't have to apologize. It's okay."Stepping closer to Avery, Tegan sighed, "Yes...yes I do. Things could've gotten out of control."
Looking into Tegan's eyes Avery smiled softly, "I promise it's okay Tegan. After...after all I did. You don't owe me an apology."
"The funny thing is, is that I still love you," Tegan scoffed with a slight chuckle.
Avery grimaced, "I really am sorry Tegan. I know it doesn't mean anything to, but I'm seriously and utterly so for the pain I've caused you."
Without a reply Tegan stepped closer to Avery lifting her hand to caress Avery's cheek. Avery heart began to accelerate at high speed as she backed up trying to pull away from Tegan. Tegan never missed a beat though. She wasn't going to let Avery get away this time.
Wrapping her arm tightly around Avery's waist she pulled their bodies closer together. Avery couldn't think straight, and the Tegan looked at her had her melting internally.
"Tegan..."
Tegan smashes her lips against hers silencing her words. Avery gasped allowing Tegan's tongue to enter her mouth, deepening the kiss. Avery's hands gripped Tegan's back as if she was a post to keep her standing. She surely felt lightheaded from the way Tegan took control.
It was different and she'd be lying if she said she wasn't turned on by it, but this was wrong. She and Timothy were in a good place and planning to bring a healthy baby into the world. This had to stop.
Finally Avery found the strength to push Tegan away, "We...I can't do this with you Tegan. You're a beautiful woman. You'll find someone better than me in no time."
