"Hey how have you been since I left," Tegan asked as she entered the living room.
After Avery's mess of crying, Tegan brought the professor to her home. She gave her fresh comfy clothes, snacks to binge on, and a place to relax. Avery was more than grateful and she appreciated Tegan for everything she was doing.
"Relaxed thanks to you. How was work," Avery replied leaning against her hand as she watched Tegan take off her heels.
"Well tiring for one. Nobody warned me about all of the meetings that I'd have to attend. I lost count after six," Tegan answered plopping down on the other end of the couch.
Chuckling the professor shook her head.
"It's the price of being a boss bitch, a leader. We do whatever it takes to get where we want to be."
"To be completely honest I didn't want to take this job. I wanted to give it all up and pursue my true passion in becoming an actress," Tegan sighed softly before laughing dryly, "It's stupid isn't it?"
Avery lifted up and grabbed Tegan's hand, "No it's not. There's nothing wrong with wanting what you truly love, and who said it was too late for you to still do it? There's always time to follow your heart."
The mood suddenly switched and Tegan and Avery were too close for comfort. Pulling away Tegan stood up.
"Are you hungry? I can order take out," Tegan asked pulling her phone from her purse.
Clasping her hands together Avery ran a hand through her hair standing as well,"Tegan maybe me staying here isn't a good idea. You can't even look me in the eye longer than a minute, and you tense every time I touch you. Was it the kiss? Do I make you uneasy?"
Placing her phone down on the table Tegan sighed, "Av-"
"And don't tell me there's nothing wrong, because that'd be a bold face lie," Avery interrupted stepping closer to Tegan.
"You make me nervous Avery, yes. Not uneasy, but nervous. It's weird, because after having drinks with you for just a few hours you made me feel comfortable. Then you kissed me and...and you made me feel things that I haven't felt in years. I shouldn't even be telling you this, because you're straight and probably taken by someone. I'm sorry if I made you feel like you were bothering me, but it's completely the opposite. I understand if you don't want to be friends anymore," Tegan responded.
Stepping closer to Tegan, Avery placed a hand on the woman's cheek.
"Tegan," Avery whispered, "Look at me."
Tegan's breath immediately hitched as their eyes connected.
"I know we just met, but I feel something from you. I can't pinpoint what it is, and it's irritating me. Though right now all I want to do is kiss you, and I don't want to ever stop."
"We can't," Tegan muttered.
"Yes we can," Avery countered pulling Tegan's body into hers.
"St-"
Avery smashed her lips to Tegan's in a instance catching her off guard for the second time. Moving her hands down to Tegan's ass she gripped it firmly rewarding herself with a her gasp.
"No I want to, b..." Tegan sighed softly as Avery's lips latched onto her neck.
Right on que the door bell rang throughout the house. Pushing Avery away from her completely Tegan quickly pulled herself together before answering the door.
