"Someone knocked your heart out
It's down for the count
Promised you a symphony
It made no soundAll these bruises and these burns
All these dead ends and wrong turns
Calling out for what you know you deserveBut I won't let you down
Not for a moment
No I won't let you down
You better believe in your own reasons
They won't let you down"I took a breath and looked at my laptop, "What do you think?" Hunter was in Minnesota, half way into his eight week tour.
Hunter's smile beamed through the screen, "Babe that's beautiful, I'm so happy to hear you have a track list. When do you start recording?"
"Monday," I smiled, "the album is going to be called Unconditionally, and its scheduled to drop January fourth."
"That's amazing. I'm so proud. Tell the kids I said hello and give them hugs for me. I gotta go for sound check." We ended our skype session and I closed my laptop, a smile stuck on my face. My fourth album, recording starting in two days. I brushed my teeth and headed into bed, before I turned off the light I heard the gentlest knock on the door.
"Mommy?"
"Yes Eas?" He poked his head in.
"Beckett is crying." I thanked Easton and sent him back to bed. I headed over to his room to find he was asleep and having a bad dream, crying and moving around.
"Beckett sweetie." I sat beside him, his movement becoming more violent and loud. I tried to soothe him and gently wake him, his bad dream almost scaring me, "Beckett, you're okay sweetheart." He quieted down, his breathing was still rapid. I tip toed out of the room, figuring he must have seen something on tv that was a little scary. Before turning out the light, I checked online for the difference between nightmares and night terrors. Based on a few different things I read, it appeared that Beckett was potentially having terrors. I checked on him once more before turning out the lights, making a note to talk to his doctor and Hunter tomorrow.
The weekend was spent around the house relaxing before I headed up for a busy week of recording. The boys winded down after soccer to watch a movie while Sutton asked to work on guitar. "Yep, that's G, A major, F and repeat." I scribbled on the sheet of lyrics to Red for her to practice. "Loving him was like driving a new Maserati down a dead end street, yep, A major, faster than the wind, passion and sin ended so suddenly, F, good." I sat back and smiled as she scrunched her nose the same way Hunter did when he focused.
Steph and I chatted about her interviews, Alex and my music when my phone began to buzz.
"Sorry, excuse me for a sec," I got up and took Hunter's call, "hey baby, sorry to bother you. Yeah I'm just a bit worried about Beckett." I explained to Hunter how he was acting in his sleep and how scary it seemed, "I couldnt wake him from it. I felt helpless. No it doesn't seem to be bothering him right now." Hunter encouraged me to keep tabs on it and talk to his doctor."I wish I could be there to help you."
"It's fine, apparently it happens to a lot of kids between five and eight years old. He will be okay. I love you too. Do you wanna talk to Sutton?" He obliged and I handed her the phone, "It's dad."
Stephanie swirled her lemonade, "Everything okay?"
"Beckett's been having some serious nightmares, borderline night terrors. It's not every night through." Sutton closed my phone and got cracking on her guitar again, "Sweetie, let's give it a break or else your fingers are gonna bleed." She rolled her eyes and smirked. "Come on, let's go get ready for dinner. I have to check everyone's homework and mamas got a long week ahead at work."
