After everything gets moved into Patrick's place I start to get settled in to my new environment. It was weird because this is the first place I've lived where the floor didn't squeak and the air conditioning wasn't just sticking your head in the freezer alongside the ice cube trays. I literally just went from project 8 to a pent house in the matter or days and I'm not going to lie, it was really nice. It'll take a little getting used to, but I think I am really going to like it here.

And moving in with Patrick at this time was a lot different than I expected because with hockey starting back up we wouldn't be able to see each other much as we would like. We figured with me moving in it would be him and I all the time but unfortunately that's not true. I mean, I get like four days off on a row but that comes after I worked for five straight days. So a lot of my off days I want to spend doing nothing. And there's no one I would rather be doing nothing with than Patrick.

"Do you need any help" Patrick asks as he joins me in the kitchen. I had all the food for steak and a salad and mashed potatoes set up. All I needed to do was make it.

"You want to help cook" I question. That's a first.

"I want to spend time with my girlfriend" he claims and I laugh. That sounds about right.

"Well in that case do you want to help me cut up vegetables" I ask and he smiles.

"I would love to" he claims.

I turn the radio on and play it slowly in the background. As a kid all I did was listen to the radio because it was all that was available to me. One, maybe two stations of the same old songs. So I didn't know the less popular songs, but I knew the ones that they played on the radio pretty well.

I help Patrick chop some veggies and we have a good time. We don't have a lot of time together, just the best of times. Eventually a song comes on and Patrick lets out a gasp. He smiles big as he turns to me, dancing a little as he gets closer.

"What are you doing" I ask.

"I'm dancing with my girlfriend" he claims.

"Not really" I insist.

"Yup. It's going to happen" he says.

"And what makes you so sure about that" I question.

"Because I'm going to make you" he smirks as he takes the spatula from my hand. He sets it on the counter before grabbing both of my hands and pulling me away from the food. I couldn't help but smile as he gives me that cheesy smile. It doesn't happen all that often, for there's rarely a time where he feels like he can just smile without a reason. But the best reason to smile is no reason at all.

He places his hands low on my back as he pulls me closer. My arms wrap around his neck as he slowly moves us back and fourth. He softly kisses the top of my head and I close my eyes for a second. I try my best to remember this moment and what it feels like.

"I've been beaten down,
I've been kicked around.
But she takes it all for me.
And I lost my faith, in my darkest days.
She makes me want to believe.

They call her love, love, love, love, love.
They call her love, love, love, love, love.
She is love,
And she is all I need.
She's all I need."

I lift my head so I can look into his eyes and I see him staring down at me. I smile when his eyes meets mine and he smiles back.

"Why do you like this song" I ask.

"Because it's a beautiful song. Have you ever heard it" he wonders.

"Nope" I admit.

"Well you should listen to it. It's a great song and it reminds me a lot about you and I" he claims.

"Is that so" I ask.

"Yes mam" he smirks and I giggle.

"Well I had my ways.
They were all in vain, 'n' she waited patiently.
It was all the same, all my pride and shame.
She put me on my feet.

They call her love, love, love, love, love.
They call her love, love, love, love, love.
They call her love, love, love, love, love.
She is love,
And she is all I need.
She is love,
And she is all I need.
She is love,
And she is all I need."

"Why does this song remind you of me" I ask and he laughs.

"You have all the questions today don't you" he smirks.

"I'm a curious girl" I smile.

"Don't I know it" he agrees. He pulls me a bit closer until I could feel his heart beating against my chest. "I like this song because this song is us. It tells the story of how you fixed me. I was broken and beaten and you healed me. For every wrong in my life you made it right. I couldn't have done it without you. You are love" he insists.

"You're not broken Patrick. I don't want you thinking that you're like a car who's engine won't start. You're an amazing guy, I can't say that enough times, and nothing you tell me would ever change my mind" I insist.

"Where were you in 2007 when I got here and I needed you so bad" he asks.

"I was here when you needed me the most" I promise.

"I'll say" he mumbles.

"How come you never told me about your ex girlfriend until the other day" I question and his eyes grow sad.

"I wanted to forget about that part of me. I wanted to forget about her and what she did to me. Don't get me wrong, I'm not mad at her. She defiantly wasn't wrong about us being together not being good. But she was the one thing I enjoyed in my time here off the ice. I guess I just wanted someone to fight for me for once instead of just giving up like always. I know I wasn't the best to be around but I loved her and I thought she would look past my issues and love me back" he sighs.

"Not everyone understands you. In fact very few people do. You're complex and there's nothing wrong with that. People just have to be willing to put in a little more effort to see how incredible you really are" I say.

"And that's why they call you love. And you... you are all I need."
