October is by far my favorite month. I have so many different fall themed scrubs I am a little bit concerned about what's going to happen when December comes around and it can't wear them. But then I remembered that my obsession with Christmas is just as bad as my one with the fall so there will be not shortage of themed scrubs for the coming weeks at the least.

But until then it was fall and my favorite time of the year. The leaves were falling and the winds were cool. There was Halloween decorations everywhere as kids try to figure out what they want to be. After all, it's the one day of the year we can be whatever we want. Kids love the holiday so I guess that makes me a kid too.

"What are you doing tomorrow night" Patrick asks as we drive home after the game. The hawks had gotten a win and was off to a good start to the 2013-2014 hockey season. Nothing like the start they had last season, but still good none-the-less.

"Nothing. It's Halloween" I smile.

"I know. And I kinda forgot to mention that the Hawks had a little Halloween party they were throwing and that we were invited" he explains.

"How did you forget that" I giggle.

"I don't know. I just slipped my mind" he shrugs.

"Well I'm not doing anything and I would love to go to the Halloween party with you" I smile.

"Really" he asks and I laugh.

"Yeah. Why is that so hard to believe? We've been dating for nearly a year. Why I'm the world would I have said no" I wonder.

"Because I'm a bad boyfriend and didn't tell you until the day before" he claims.

"Well you're wrong because you're a great boyfriend and you could have asked me when I got off work tomorrow and I would have said yes" I claim and he smiles.

"You're the best" he claims.

Once we get back to the apartment I brush my teeth and get ready for bed. I stand in the closet and try to decide which scrubs to wear tomorrow and I can feel Patrick watching me from the edge of the bed.

"What do you want to go as for the party" he wonders.

"I don't know. It's the one night of the year where you can be anything you want to be. What do you want to be" I ask him and he thinks about it for a second.

"You" he claims and I stop.

"You can be anything is this world... and you want to be me" I ask.

"Absolutely" he claims and I smile. I run over to where he was sitting on the bed and knock him over. He easily catches me as I grab his face. I pull him into a long kiss as he relaxes into the bed. "What's that for" he whispers.

"For being the sweetest most thoughtful man I've ever met" I claim and he smiles up at me. He pulls me back in for a kiss and I happily kiss him back.

Now I'm not big on parties. I don't drink and I don't know most of the songs they play. My dancing is okay and all I want to do is talk most of the time but it's always too loud for me to try and talk to someone. But the few Blackhawks events I've been to has been so much fun and I was really excited for this one.

I change into my Halloween costume before looking into the mirror. I let out a little giggle when I see how small I really was compared to Patrick.

Since Patrick was going as me for Halloween I decided I wanted to go as him. So he let me use all of his pads and jersey and wear it to the party. Even with the pads the jersey was too big but I still loved it. I always watched Patrick play and for one day I get to be him and that was really cool. I had some pretty big skates to fill.

"You look adorable" Patrick says from across the room. I turn around and start to laugh when I see him.

He had put on one of my scrubs and found a brown wig to put on. He was wearing a headband like I always did so my hair was out of the way when I was working. The scrubs were a little tight on him but I must certainly didn't mind any.

"You look buff" I admit and he laughs.

"I'm not as cute as you, but I have to admit, I look great in scrubs" he jokes.

"Why did you choose these" I ask as I fix the collar on his shirt. He chose the light tan scrubs with a bunch of different colored leaves on it. They were my favorite ones.

"Because I know you love these and you looked so good in them so I figured I would give them a try" he shrugs.

"Well you make a pretty good me" I insist and he smiles.

"I could never be you" he argues.

"And I could never be you. How the hell do you work with all of this on" I ask as I try to slide the gloves back on.

"Over 20 years of practice" he claims and I laugh.

"Right. I just need this for one night, then you can have it all back" I promise him.

We head over to the bar that was hosting the Blackhawks players and whoever it is they decide to bring with them. We get inside and I quickly find a smile on my face. It was hard to recognize some of these people but I loved how into it they got. They were really into dressing up and that made my heart happy.

"Oh my god" someone says and I turn around. I see Gracie standing there tall as ever and I smile big. "Did you guys come dressed up as each other" she asks and I nod.

"Yeah. It was Patrick's idea but I've always wanted to know what it was like to be a prodigy generational hockey player who ended nearly a half century drought. Turns out it's just really hot" I laugh.

"Okay. You guys are the cutest couple for sure. Everyone else can throw in the towel" she claims.

"I don't know about that. You and Jonny are pretty cute too" I insist. They looked to have come as some type of Greek god and goddess. I need to talk to whoever did her makeup because she actually looked like she was walking in the sky right now.

"Jonny always wants to be a god" she mumbles and I laugh.

"He thinks he is one" Patrick claims and I playfully shove him.

"Play nice" I warn.

"Well you're acting like a enforcer so you're certainly not Patrick" Jonny teases as he joins his wife.

"There's no one else I would rather be" I insist as I rest my hand on Patrick's shoulder. He pulls me into his side and I felt so comfortable.

"Patrick was right, there's no way you're real" Gracie claims and I start to blush.

"All I know is that this love we share is and that's what's important."
