You have to make it through the storm before you see the sunshine, Damien.
God gives his strongest battles to his toughest soldiers, Damien.
He'll never put more on you than you can bear, Damien.
All of it sounds like nothing but lies to Damien now. If all of this was true Lisa, Kirk, and Laila would still be here. Instead they're six feet deep in caskets. It's not fair. Through all of this Damien's still here. He's honestly starting to wonder if he's cursed or not.
Damien's been stay in the basement of his dad's house since the funeral. He could stay in Kirk's room but that'd be too much too soon. Upstairs Damien could hear his parents crying for the third time in the past hour. At this point crying is normal for them. It's better to let those feelings out inside of holding them inside.
Up in New York Beyoncé was watching the funeral on YouTube. Beyoncé just shook her head as she watched the funeral. She's a mother of three young kids and she couldn't imagine going through what Ron and Gwen are going through. After Bey heard the news she hugged her kids extra tight and told them she loved them. It's a sad, sad worked that they live in.
Tina walked in and stood behind Beyoncé, "Why are you watching a funeral?" She asked.
Beyoncé closed down her MacBook and wiped her eyes. "Remember the guy that was in my video, Damien?" She asked.
"Oh yeah the one with the beautiful girlfriend." Tina said.
"Well his younger brother and sister were murdered after spending the evening with him." Beyoncé explained.
"Lord have mercy. I feel so bad for him. Did he lose his mama back in November?" Tina asked.
"Yes ma'am. I paid for the funeral and asked Anika to go down there and sing but I feel like that's not enough." Beyoncé picked up her tissue and wiped her face. "When I asked Damien to come up and talk to me he drove twenty something hours to come up here and meet with me. He even painted the artwork for my album and starred in my music video. I just don't know how to help him right now."
"A phone call can do more than you think." Tina said.
Mother's always right. Beyoncé opened her MacBook and FaceTimed Damien. Damien was checking his clothing orders when he got the call. He wiped his eyes and clicked on the green dot.
"Hey Bey." Damien said.
"Hi. You got on my mind really heavy so I decided to call in and check on you." Beyoncé said.
"Thank you. It's hard, I wish this was a bad dream that I could wake up from." Damien said.
"I understand, losing family can take a lot out of you. How's your family doing?" She asked.
Damien sighed and ran his fingers through his curls. "We're a mess. All my parents do is sit around and cry. I don't even feel like working. Usually I can paint and I'll feel better but not even art can fix this." He said.
"Wow. How's Noelle?" Beyoncé asked.
"She better than I am. Busy being a big sister, businesswoman, and future mother." A reminder popped up in Damien's screen reminding him of something very important. "And we have to go to the doctor today for her two month checkup." He said.
