Night Out

Olivia:

I was at my desk still thinking about what I said to Shayne.  Even though it was true I still felt bad when I said it out loud. I hadn't ever thought something like this would happen between us just a few weeks ago. That morning after the Halloween party really changed us somehow. I finally saw him in a different light and we had something. For some reason I decided to throw it all away because he talked to some girl. I pulled out my phone and looked at his phone number. I wanted to dial it so bad and make up with him. I wondered if he would answer though. That's what stopped me from calling. Courtney walked in and grabbed her bag.

"See ya" She said waving goodbye.

"Bye" I said waving.

She left the room and it was just me by myself again. I decided to throw myself into my work to avoid thinking about him.

Time skip...

It had been at least two hours before I was exhausted from working so much. Everyone had already left so I decided to leave as well. As I was driving home I realized I hadn't anything to eat or drink in a while. I stopped at the first place I saw. It was some bar in downtown. I walked in and it had a generic bar look to it. I sat down at the counter and ordered a drink. The bartender slid me my drink and I got some mozzarella sticks to go with it. I sipped on my drink and snacked on the mozzarella sticks.

"So what brings you in here today?" Asked the bartender.

"Nothing really, just bored and thirsty" I reply.

"Oh, haha just like everyone else here" He says joking.

"Haha I guess you're right" I say chuckling.

"So what do you do for a living?" He asks.

"Uh not much, I just make entertaining videos for the internet" I say.

"Entertaining videos?" He says raising an eyebrow.

"Not like that!" I say laughing.

We continued to chat for what seemed like forever. I had at least 3 orders of mozzarella sticks by now. I was in the middle of the conversation with the bartender.

"So you got somebody special?" He asked.

"I used too" I say solemnly.

"Oh, not anymore?" He asks.

"Nah, I kinda messed things up with him" I say.

"Dang, that sucks" he says.

"Yeah" I reply.

"Lucky for you" He says.

"What?" I ask.

"You didn't mess things up with me" he says.

"Haha no thanks" I say.

"You sure? I'm a great guy" he says.

"Nah, I'm good" I say taking another sip.

"C'mon give me a chance" he says.

"I'm good, I'm just here to get a drink" I say.

"Wow, at least take a chance on me bitch" He says.

"Excuse me?" I say shocked.

"You don't even know anything about me" He says.

"I'm gonna go" I say.

"C'mon at least let me have one date" He says grabbing my hand.

"She said no, buddy" A voice says.

"Who the hell are you?" He says.

"It doesn't matter, let her go" The voice says walking closer.

"This is my bar" The bartender says.

"Yeah, that means you should treat your customers right" The voice says standing next to me.

I look over and jolt. It's none other than Shayne.

"Are we going to have a problem?" The bartender says.

"We are if you don't let go of her hand" Shayne says.

The bartender stares at Shayne menacingly. Shayne stares him down right back. The air had a real sinister silence about it. Sensing that it would be an ugly fight the bartender let go of my hand.

"It was just a misunderstanding" The bartender says.

"Mhm" Shayne says and walks outside.

I grab my purse and phone and go outside while flashing the bartender a dirty look. Once I get outside I look around desperately for Shayne. I finally see him standing with his back to me with two people I can't make out. Without thinking I run up to him. I grab his arm and spin him around to face me.

"Olivia I-" he tries to say.

I shush him with a sloppy kiss. His eyes go wide as he pulls away.

"What? I wanted to thank you for what you did in there" I say a little offended.

"Olivia it's not that its-" He starts to say again.

"Stop, I need to say something, I realized we do have something between us, something more than a spark, more than feelings, I love you Shayne and I do want us to be something" I say.

"What???" I hear two voices say.

I look behind Shayne and see who they are. Oh my god its Courtney and Keith! They are staring at Shayne and I.

"Keith, Courtney!?" I say suprised.

"That's what I was trying to tell you" Shayne finally gets out.

"Woah wait you two!?" Keith says bewildered.

"Yeah what is going on!?" Courtney says.

"I uh.. I uh.. gotta go" I say completely embarrassed and a little afraid.

"Olivia wait!" Shayne calls after me.

I ignore him and run to my car. I get in and quickly start the car. I pull out of the parking spot and drive off. While driving away I look out my window and see Shayne's face. He looks at me with glossy eyes and a sad face. I can't handle all this right now so I drive home silently crying.
