In the next three hours, Lance became increasingly overwhelmed. Once finding the blue lion and being guided to the castle, Lance was ridiculed for being the pilot of the omega lion. The others had pitied him, only adding onto his insecurities.

After finding the other lions, and battling the Galra, Coran brought the new paladins to their designated sleeping quarters.

"Here you are my boy! Get some rest." The Altean waves goodbye, walking farther down the hall.

The omega didn't have time to reply before the man was out of sight.

The group had learned about the genders of the Altean people. Which were not the same dynamics as the human race.

Coran explained the uses of Alpha, beta, and omega were based mostly on a person's position in society. Allura was an alpha because of her being a princess. Coran was a beta when compared to Allura however was considered an alpha when in comparison to a Altean commoner.

These titles were integrated into Altean society due to the Galran Empire having the same six sexes as the human race.

It was a lot to take in for the paladins, but worked hard to try and understand the dynamics.

Lance let out a sigh. The events of the past few hours had taken a toll on the omega. So much had happened in such a small amount of time that he didn't have a chance to take in his situation.

He sat down on the small bed, falling backward to lay on the pillow. He had messed up many times throughout the day, by upsetting Keith and even Shiro once or twice.

His breathing began to quicken as his thoughts swarmed. He was far away from his home world, thrown into an intergalactic war, and already been shamed due to being chosen as the omega's paladin.

Lance began to sob. He kept hearing what Keith spat at him play on repeat.

"You are the worst pilot ever!"

"With you at the helm? Terrified."

The Alphas words became louder as his sobs tore his throat. He covered his ears to try and stop his thoughts.

"Lance! Not now!"

Lance clawed at his ears and head to try and stop the voices. He didn't want to do this anymore. He just wanted to be back in his dorm room where he was safe to be who he was. He wanted his nest.

His breathing sped til he was gasping.

Cool liquid encased his fingertips as he continued to claw his dull nails down the sides of his head. He was overly stressed, resulting in the omega rolling  onto his side and passing out.

He heard the sirens go off in the morning, however Lance couldn't make out the words Allura yelled through the intercoms.

The omega sat up and went to rub his eyes only to find blood on his fingertips. He sighed, walking into the bathroom to see the damage he had caused himself.

Small cuts ran down the side of his head while his hair was slightly matted from blood.  Lance chose to wash his face and fix himself up before going and seeing what Allura had been yelling about.

"You're late," Allura stated. Lance had walked through the door fifteen minutes after the alarm had went off. He was met with three annoyed alphas, startling the poor boy.

The omega took a breath and presented his cocky beta exterior, "Sorry princess, you can't expect me to look this good without a little sleep."

Allura rolled her eyes before ignoring Lance and addressing the paladins as a whole. She went to explain the necessary bond needed between paladins.

"You can not form Voltron unless you all can work together for a common goal. This task must be done both Physically and mentally to achieve and strong formation of Voltron," Allura began to smile, "today, we will be focusing on bonding exercises."

Lance seemed to choke up. The omega knew that if he were to open up to the group, his position as a beta would be compromised.

The paladins took to their lions, working with multiple different exercises to try and form a close relationship with the ships.

Blue wanted Lance to open up to her. She knew he was an omega and knew he needed someone who could understand.

Blue sent reassuring thoughts to her paladin, only to have Lance refuse exception.

After hours of blue attempting to form an understanding with the omega, Lance had landed her back in the hanger.

He let out a sigh of relief, leaving the cockpit to go join the others. Coran had called for them to join him in the training room, where chaos ensued.

The invisible maze was a disaster, and the group fight simulations didn't go any better. The task that really frightened Lance however, was the mind melding exercise.

"Now the most important part of paladin training is being able to meld your minds and focus on one thing: Voltron. Everything else has to fade away." Coran continued, "this technique will be essential every time you form Voltron, so relax and open your mind. No walls, no secrets between paladins."

Lance swallowed down his anxiety and focused all his energy on only thinking of the blue lion. Lance had unintentionally reached out to Blue, resulting in the robotic beast trying to calm the boy's nerves.

Lance resented blue's need to mother him, only to send him on a spiral on how his mother had never shown him such care. Some how, he ended up focusing on his family.

Blue brought him back to the present, sending him visions of focusing.

Everything was going well. He was so close to breaking, only to be saved by Pidge throwing somewhat of a tantrum. After the outburst, they were finally allowed to retire to their bedrooms.

Lance was exhausted. He took his pills and was ready to take off his armor, when Coran had called them to the dining room in order to have dinner.
