"Artemis answer your fucking phone, it's annoying." Leah whines. I roll my eyes and pick up my phone. "Hello?" I breathe into the phone. "Artemis?" Jacobs frantic voice fills my ears. "I need you to meet me at Bella's. She tried to kill herself, and if anything happens I can't protect her there." Jacob explains. "Give me like five minutes and I'll meet you there." I hang up the phone and get off the Clearwaters' couch. "Where are you going?" Leah asks me. "Going to save my boyfriends, best friend." I walk out of the house and into the woods. I strip of my clothes, and tie them to my ankle. I phase into my wolf and take off towards Bella's house. The engine of Bella's truck going down the road is loud enough for me to hear from the woods, and I run faster to keep up with it. I beat the truck to the house and I phase back. I slip back into my clothes and meet the truck in the driveway. Bella gets out of the truck, with Jacob hot on her tail. "What happened?" "I'll explain later. Did you hear about Harry?" Jacob asks as he snakes his arm around my waist. "I just came from there. Leah was so shocked from the news that she shifted, and from seeing her shift, Seth also shifted." I explain to him. "I'll keep an eye on her, go home and get some rest." I push him away from me. "You know I won't sleep." "Please." He nods and takes off towards the woods. As soon as he takes off the smell of vampire fills my nose. "What are you guys, if you don't mind me asking." I turn around to find Bella staring at me in curiosity. "Well he's my imprint. Which I'll explain at a later time." She sends me a confused look. "He's my boyfriend." She nods her head and looks behind me. "That's Carlisle's car. Why's it here?" She turns around and heads up the stairs. I follow her into the house. I close the door behind me, and the lights flicker on. "Oh my god! Alice!" I look to my left to see Bella jump into a small girls arms. Alice pushes her out of her arms. "Would you like to explain to me why you're alive? And why you brought a dog with you?" Alice demands. "I'm not a dog!" I push Bella behind me. "Who are you?" "Artemis this is Alice, she won't hurt me." Bella tries to explain but I shush her. "I can't be certain of that. And what do you mean how is she alive?" "I saw a vision of her jumping off a cliff. Why would you try and kill yourself Bella!" "I didn't try and kill myself. I was cliff diving, recreationally." Alice scoffs. "I'm going to make some tea." "You went cliff diving!" I yell. "Bella you are not a wolf or a vampire you can't survive these things." She nods and heads into the living room. I follow her in and sit beside her on the couch. Alice comes in with tea. She hands us both a cup. "I've never met anyone more prone to life threatening idiocy then you." Alice laughs. "Did you- did you tell him?" Bella stutters. "No. He only calls in every few months, says he wants to be alone." Bella nods, and I can only assume they are talking about Edward. "What is that god awful wet dog smell?" Alice wrenches. "Probably me, and Artemis." Bella takes her coat off. Alice sends her a confused look. "Well Artemis is a werewolf, and so is Jacob." Bella explains. "Bella, werewolves are not good company to keep. No offense Artemis." I glance at her over my tea glass. "Speak for yourself." Jacob says from the doorway. "I thought you couldn't protect me here?" Bella asks. "Well Artemis can protect you and herself, but I had to be sure neither of you got hurt." Jacob sends me a pointed look. "Well I'm not hurt either of them!" Alice exclaims. "No you're just another harmless Cullen. I'm talking about the red head." Jacob mutters. "Victoria?" She turns back to Bella. "Victoria's been around." "I didn't see her. I cant see past you and your pack of mutts!" Alice scoffs. "Don't." Jacob grumbles. I get up from my spot on the couch and reach for Jacob. "You don't." I wrap my arm around his side, and he relaxes a little bit. Alice leaves us three for a moment. "Are the others back?" Jacob asks. I shake my head. "Well are the rest coming back?" "I don't think so." I tell him. Bella takes her cup out to the kitchen and we follow her. The phone rings and Jacob answers it. "Swan residence?" He pauses before answering. "Sorry he's planning a funeral." He hangs up the phone and turns towards us. Alice bursts through the kitchen door. "Bella it's Edward. He thinks you're dead, Rosalie told him why I came here." Alice tells her. "Why didn't you let me talk to him?" Bella screams at Jacob. "He didn't ask to speak to you!" Jacob yells back. "Calm down Jacob." I murmur as I put my hand on his chest. "Calm down." "Bella, he's going to the Volturi! He wants to die too." Bella glares at Jacob and walks out of the house with Alice. Jacob tries to follow them but I stop him. "Don't start something that I'll have to finish." I warn him. He stops in his tracks. "You can't make her stay, she's going to go after him and you can't stop her." I tell him. "I'm going to go see them off, go home and I'll meet you there." I walk away from him, and out of the house. I run to the car before Alice pulls out. "Please be safe, and call me when you're on your way home." They both nod and Alice pulls away from the house. I can tell that Jacob left the house, and I run to his house. I let myself in, and make my way back to Jacobs room. He sitting on his bed, with his head in his hands. "I'm sorry." He apologizes. "It's okay. Let's get some sleep." He nods and holds his arms out for me. I gladly jump into his arms.
