"Witches? Are you serious?" Diana asked. There are very few witch covens in the world, which makes the sighting of one very surprising.
"Yes. I wouldn't joke about this." Alpha Ronan paced the floor. "Issac, tighten the borders. No body comes in, not until this is under control."
"Yes Alpha." The delta left the room hurriedly.
"Andrew, keep the pack within the borders and worry free. I don't want this getting out."
"Yes Alpha." Andrew promptly left.
"Leo, gather your best scouts and prowl the surrounding territories. Do not engage. Only track and report. Understand?" The Alpha commanded.
"Yes Alpha." Leo scurried out the door. It's important to follow the Alpha's orders as quickly and efficiently as possible.
"Dmitri, I want you to begin the preparing the warriors for battle. If this comes down to a war, I don't wan us to be ill prepared. However, do not tell them. This is top secret."
"Yes Alpha." Dmitri quickly left the conference room. Only Diana and Xavier were left.
"Are you sure about this?" Diana questioned. "I think we should take this slow. I don't want them knowing we know about them." The Alpha ran his hands through his dark brown hair. He began pacing the floor again.
"You're right. I just want us to be ready. Those witches are evil. We need to be ready for anything." Xavier took a deep breath and sat down.
"I know those witches are heinous but our pack is one of the strongest in the country." Diana was bursting with pride in White Mountain pack. She and Xavier both work tirelessly to keep the pack strong and capable. White Mountain lay in the middle of Shadow Hills, a town mostly composed of werewolves but some humans.
"I'm not letting those witches anywhere near us. The second one of them crosses into this territory, I'll rip them to shreds." Xavier slammed his fist on the table. Diana wanted to ask if he was okay but she thought that would be pointless. He obviously wasn't alright, but she didn't know what to do about it.
"What do you need me to do?" she looked over at the exhausted Alpha. His blue eyes looked lost.
"I need you to investigate the coven. Report back with what you see, hear, smell, anything out of the ordinary. Oh and take two warriors with you." The she-wolf looked up at the Alpha. She raised her brow and cocked her head to the side. "Fine, one warrior." She rolled her eyes.
Despite being the best fighter the pack has seen in a long time, Xavier always wanted her protected. He thought of Diana as a little sister and she thought of him as her over bearing older brother.
"You know I can take care of myself, Xavier." She grew frustrated of his lack of faith in her. I work my ass of and he still thinks I can't fight my own battles?
"Believe me, I know how capable you are. It's just...if something happened to you this pack would never be the same. I may be the Alpha but you're the glue that holds this place together." Xavier stared out the window over looking the forest. He was deep in thought about the new developments this morning.
"Flattering will not get you out of this X. I'll see in the ring later today." Diana smirked. She knew she'd take him down. Alpha or not, she could kick some ass.
"Aw come on D! I'm still sore from yesterday!" He begged, hoping for some mercy.
"Well, you should of thought about that before you decided to doubt my abilities." She smiled wickedly and left to get started on her assignment.
