"I cannot believe that evil bitch!" Diana screamed as she tended to Malakai's injuries. There wasn't much she could do about his broken arm, but she cleaned up any cuts he had, applied ice, and took as much pain from him as she could through the bond.

"Don't you mean evil witch?" Kai mused. His arm hurt like hell, but Diana's company was a major relief.

"Touché," Diana said with a raised brow, "We need to get you to a witch with healing capabilities or a true healer right away. An arm this damaged could need surgery and with this battle happening in three days we don't have that kind of time." She scrunched her brows in worry, wishing there was more she could do for her mate. Watching him in pain, trying to mask it the best he can, breaks her heart.

"Healers are few and far apart we'll never find one in time. The only witch that I know capable of healing is my dad." He spoke solemnly.

Diana sat next to him on the couch and rested her head on his uninjured arm, "We have to go to him Kai. He's your dad and I know he won't like it, but we have to ask for his help." Even though he knew she was right, Kai wanted to argue with her and dismiss the idea immediately. However, he couldn't do that because it seemed to be the only option other than going to the pack doctor and facing surgery which is the last thing they need right now.

"Okay." His response surprised her, she assumed he'd fight her on the suggestion. Before he had a chance to change his mind Diana started helping him to the car.

She went to buckle his seat belt when he stopped her, "I can do it, wolfie. Don't you worry about me, okay?"

She kissed his cheek, "Impossible."

"What are you doing here?!" Silas shouted at his son, "and especially with her!" The wrinkles that surrounded his eyes seemed more prominent today and his hair was disheveled. Banishing his only child emotionally and physically took a toll on him. He had doubted his decision every day, but the thought of him with a werewolf sent him spiraling again.

"It's a long story that I will explain later. Cordelia is after us and Diana's alpha. She came at me today and broke my arm. Can you heal it?"

The couple now sat stiffly on the couch, the tension in the room making it impossible to move. Silas cased his hands around his son's shattered arm; Malakai hissed in pain.

Diana watched tentatively to the actions of Kai's father. He had a tight grip on Kai's arm and chanted words in Latin.

"Universi et potestatem supra, quaeso, gratia quid fuerit amissum, cum virtus tua, et sanabo te, qui iacet ante me."

Light emerged from his hands as he spoke. She saw his arm contort back into its proper place. Kai grimaced in pain, squinting his eyes shut, and tensed his entire body, but just a second later he let out a sigh of relief and was able to relax.

"Okay, it is done. Now can you explain to me why a very powerful dark witch is after you!" Silas growled out. His brown eyes burned with fury, glaring at the couple that sat before him.

As his son and Diana explained the intricacies of their predicament Silas couldn't help but notice the loving touches Diana initiated and Malakai's tender responses. The pair reminded him of his late wife Theodora, or Thea as she preferred to be called. The moment he set his sights on Thea's brilliant blue eyes he knew she was his fated. To this day, he is still broken inside from her death. She died valiantly giving birth to their son. She cradled Kai in her arms for just moments before things began to fall apart.

Perhaps he had been too quick to judge Diana, but he was taught that werewolves were nasty, brutish creatures with no mercy. The sight before him negated everything he believed. Diana stared at Kai with the utmost admiration and respect. She even handled his body like fine china; careful caresses and gentle touches. How could what he has been taught be true if he's seeing proof with his own eyes that it's not? Not only this, but Malakai was much happier, lighter, and more confident even. He'd never seen his son so at ease before. It was as if being with Diana completed his puzzle.

"I will help you fight Cordelia and return the alpha's mate." Silas found himself saying the words without thinking, but he didn't need to think. He knew this had to be done.
