Diana found herself in the meadow watching the colors of the sky burst with pink and orange hues as the sun rose. She looked around at the field, dew collected on the grass and the birds were chirping their morning song. It was such a serene sight to see. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath of the crisp morning air and let it out. When she opened her eyes, the sky was no longer painted with colors of the sunrise but inky black and dotted with gray clouds. She turned in circles and blinked over and over again to make sure she wasn't hallucinating. The sky opened up and let out a loud crack of thunder followed by lightening that shook the earth below her feet.

Fog floated and inch of the ground and moved closer to where Diana stood. Another crack of thunder sounded, and three hooded figures appeared. Diana stepped back on uneasy footing and fell to the ground. She was paralyzed by shock and fear. She remembers these figures. The ones who threatened Kai.

"We warned you Diana." One of the figures taunted.

"But you didn't listen." Continued another.

The middle figure spoke up finally, "We are coming for him."

The witches held each other's hands and chanted, "Impii erit vincere!" Another bolt of lightening burst from the sky.

Diana sprung up from her lying down position shouting at the top of her lungs. She looked around to find Malakai next to her in bed with a terribly worried look on his face. It was just a dream.

"Diana! Diana! What's wrong? Are you alright?!" Malakai placed his hands on her shoulders to keep her and himself grounded.

"It was just a bad dream. I'm alright. I'm alright." Diana whispered out, slightly out of breath.

"Diana, if something is scaring you that badly it's more than just a bad dream. This is the second time this has happened. Can you please tell me what happened? I'm worried about you." Kai slipped his hand under her shirt to rub her back, he knew the skin to skin contact would set off relaxing tingles.

Diana was conflicted. She wanted to share the frightening dream in order to feel somewhat relieved, but she didn't want to scare Malakai either. Although, maybe Kai could help her understand what was happening? She looked up at him to see the worry in his eyes. She took a deep breath and let it out, "The first dream, it was our first date. You called me weird and I said that was a compliment coming from you," Diana smiled at the fond memory of their date, "But then it all changed...I looked up and blood was pooling out of your eyes an-and you were d-dead." She felt tears spring in her eyes at the mere thought of Kai dead. On instinct, Kai wiped her tears with his thumb and kissed her forehead. She suddenly felt enough confidence to finish the story, "Then these hooded figures appeared in the diner. They told me to stop investigating the witches or else you would end up d-dead." Diana let out a long breath and rested her head on Malakai's shoulder not being able to bear the weight of her head anymore.

Malakai grasped her hand, "That's dream walking. It's very difficult to master and takes decades to perfect something like that."

"What does this mean?" Diana asked.

"Well, what happened in the dream you just had?" Kai questioned.

Diana shifted uncomfortably at the memory, "I was in the meadow and it was so peaceful until it started thundering. The sky was black and when lightening stuck, the hooded figures appeared again. They said...they said they were coming for you." She held on tighter to Kai's hand and buried herself further into his embrace to reassure that he was here, and he was safe.

"It sounds like a very powerful witch is after me in retaliation to you investigating witches. Which doesn't make sense to me because that information is available to anyone of the supernatural world. This witch must not have wanted you specifically to find it."

"What if something happens to you, Kai? What am I going to do? I can't- I can't lose you." Diana's voice broke at the end.

Despite being scared for his life, he needed to make sure Diana was okay. He needed to be the rock right now. One of them had to pull them together, "Baby I'm not going anywhere, okay? You're stuck with me forever. Tomorrow we can look into dream walking more and take some safety measures. I can contact a friend of mine who's been around longer than me and who might know something. But for right now, I'm going to cast a safety net spell around the room so no one can get in or out-it should protect you from dream walking too."  Kai got up and walked to the center of the room.

Diana watched him wave his hands around and speak words in Latin. It was an amazing sight to see; the way the muscles of his back moved as he raised his arms caught Diana's attention. Not to mention the blue light coming out of his hands! When he finished speaking, the blue light in his hands dispersed around the room and encompassed them in a bubble.

Malakai turned around to face his mate who was now staring at him in wonderment, "What?" He asked, curious as to her new attitude.

Diana softly smiled, "Nothing...it's just really cool to watch you do that. I've never seen anything like it." Feeling safer and more relaxed, Diana leaned in and kissed Kai in the lips softly and sweetly.

"I love you." Kai whispered when they broke apart from their kiss.

"I love you too." Replied Diana with a smile that put the stars to shame.

An overwhelming sense of love and possessiveness to over Malakai, "I don't care if the whole world is after me, nothing can keep me from you, okay?" Kai spoke his words like a promise. It was his vow to her, to always be by her side.

Diana kissed him once more, "Okay." The couple then fell fast asleep in each other's arms unaware of the fate that lies ahead.
