A/N sorry I was gone so long. As I said on my page, I was in a car accident and ended up the hospital. I finally am allowed to ease back into my normal life again!
<3 TrisThe car swerved into the other lane for a split second. After feeling his heart drop, he quickly recovered from his reverie and moved the car into its intended side of the road. The car horns from the other vehicles interrupted the once peaceful air that surrounded the couple.
"Malakai Nathaniel! What the hell was that!" Diana screeched. Her heart was beating erratically in her chest. Not just because of the near car crash but because of her mate's reaction to her declaration.
"I'm so sorry, babe! You just caught me off guard." Malakai quickly responded. He then pulled the car into Diana's driveway well, their driveway now. He glanced over at Diana whose arms were crossed, and face looked furious. "Diana baby, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to veer to the other side of the road." Diana looked at him with a scowl, exited the car, and slammed the door shut. Malakai quickly trailed behind her into the house.
"Did you get hurt? What's going on?" Kai questioned, genuinely not understanding Diana's large reaction to his almost car accident.
"Are you fucking serious right now, Kai?! Do you really not have any idea why I could be mad right now?" Diana had raised her voice to a frustrated shriek. Kai just stared at her still confused. The couple stood staring at each other in the living room for a moment. Diana was reeling, steam was practically coming out of her ears.
"I told you I wanted to mark and mate you – which is a HUGE deal by the way – and you almost ran into an oncoming car! How do you think that makes me feel?!" She raised her hands for accentuation and quickly brought them down devasted by her mate's lack of reaction. Diana covered her face with her hands and then brought them through her hair.
"Are you kidding me right now Diana? I was surprised because I didn't think you were ready for that yet. Of course, I would want to take our relationship to that level. I love you, Diana. You are my everything and I would be the luckiest son of a bitch in the universe to bear your mark." Malakai was breathing heavily by the end of his speech.
Diana's heart began to race again, but for a different reason this time. She stared at the man she loved, his ocean blue eyes she fell for not too long ago, his caramel-colored hair that splayed in different directions, his lean but muscular body, but most importantly: his soul. He was her other half and that had to be the most attractive part of him, that fact that he completed her.
Diana ran towards Kai and wrapped herself around him. She brought her legs to his waist and he held her securely with his hands on her butt. They're lips met in a heated kiss that was messy and a bit frenzied, but it was beautiful. Diana moved her lips from his lips to his chin then to his neck. Diana laid open mouth kissed down the side of his neck which sent Kai wild. His control was hanging on by a thread. He then decided to march up the stairs while his mate made herself busy hotly kissing his neck. Kai tossed Diana and raked his gaze over her sculpted body. Her lips were swollen, her cheeks were flushed, and her eyes were flooded with desire. Malakai was sure he looked just as aroused as she did. He threw himself at his dangerously sexy mate. Their lips locked again in a sloppy kiss. As their tongues fought for dominance, they began to remove their clothes desperately. It was as of they couldn't get close enough. Once all obstructions were gone, they sealed their mating bond and Diana sunk her canines into the base of Kai's neck. He felt searing pain for a few seconds, but then it turned into absolute pleasure.
Finally, they were completely bonded. It felt as they had finally become whole; their souls had mended together which allowed for absolute happiness. Diana felt as if her entire body was buzzing with electricity, she was exhilarated. Malakai felt so full of love and bliss all because of this ineffable woman who lay in his arms. Life could not get any better for the both of them.
Or so they thought.
