Before this Earth was created
Before galaxies coated the universe
Before stars spread like freckles across the sky
Before stardust powdered our space;
I have loved you
Before streams of youth cascaded down as waterfalls
Before sunlight rained and made glow every spot
Before flowers bloomed and spread perfume
Before moonlight gleamed and showered nightlings with dew;
I have loved you
Before hailstorms showered and shone like diamonds
Before tornadoes took everyone on free spins
Before lightning struck twelve and burnt everything to a crisp
Before it rained and flooded away our sins;
I have loved you
Before dust created humans
Before dinosaurs roamed free
Before meteorites declared war on Earth
Before there was you and me;
My soul has loved yours
As Adams' loved Eves'
I have always loved you
But a shame you've never loved me
