Broken ribs protect this fragile heart
The softest of petals ignite a spark
For the touch of fragility can easily shatter
Whatever is left of a broken heart
The mellifluos melody your sound makes
Jumpstart my heart, gives it a kick
For the beauty of a rose never compensates
For the thorns it chooses to drape itself in
And if Beauty had never chosen to love the Beast
The petal would never have touched the heart
And the rose that stood so tall and proud
Would have shattered and broken easily apart
So I thank you, my Beauty for breaking through
The hardest of armour that shielded to
My fragile heart that still beats true
True to your name
True to me and you
