Madelyn's POV: "Look at my precious little darling." He said, his deep voice sending chills throughout my spine.

"Why are you doing this?" I shakily asked. I could barely move since my wrists were tied above my head and my ankles each tied to the corners of the bed.

"Oh Maddie, you're so naïve." He chuckled, making his way over to me. "You know very well we were meant to be together. Why do you think I keep visiting you?" He straddled over me, his long black hair just barely touching my chest. I tried to move my arm over my face so I didn't have to see him. Tears started to form in my eyes. "Oh, why are you crying darling?" He brushed his hand against my cheek, his black-painted nails gently scratching.

"Please let me go. Leave me alone." I choked out. He just gave me a sinister smirk.

"Not before I drain you." He said.

"No! Don't! Please let me go!" I screamed. He leaned over and sunk his fangs into my neck.

I let out a scream once I woke up. When I realized it was another nightmare, I calmed down some. Attempting to catch my breath was difficult, since my breathing was quick and shallow.

"What's wrong?! You ok?!" Dad quickly ran into my bedroom.

"Yeah, I'm ok." I said, swallowing hard, "Just another nightmare."

"Another one? This has been going on for five months now Maddie. We need to take you to see Dr. Jeckyl and get this sorted out." Dad said, sitting on the end of my bed.

"He's creepy though." I said, "And considering we live around zombies and werewolves, that's saying something."

My name's Madelyn Lawless by the way. My father is Blackie Lawless. You're probably wondering about the zombie and werewolf thing. Well, I'm human, that much is true. The difference between me and you is that I live in what is simply known as the creature realm. How'd I get here? No one wants to tell me that, all I know is that I was adopted by Blackie, who's a werewolf. Back to the creature realm. It's basically what you picture Transylvania to be like, very Victorian looking. The creatures are immortal, and they don't age appearence-wise past their mid-twenties and early-thirties, although they can look older if needed. What you probably don't expect is that were in the same timeline as you. We have all the same technological advances you do. IPhones, computers, you name it, we got it. Not much medicinal wise however, since the creatures here can easily be cured with black magic, spells, herbs, whatever you picture an old-timey apothecary using. If I were to become sick with a human disease though, our doctors can easily acquire whatever is needed to heal me if what we have available here doesn't work. For example, I've got multiple food allergies, so I carry Auvi-Q's from your world with me, since spells can't fix anaphylactic shock. Another main difference between our realm and yours is that nighttime for you is our daytime, and your daytime is our nighttime. Because, you know, we've got vampires and other creatures that can't set foot in the sun without cover. And if you ever wondered what spirit was communicating with you and your friends through your Ouija board, that would've been one of us trying to communicate with a human through ours.

Now let's talk about my nightmares.

For the past five months, as my dad mentioned, I've been having reoccurring nightmares. It's usually a different scenario each night, but it involves the same vampire. In my nightmares he's nameless, but he's extremely pale, has long, layered black hair that's just below his shoulders, black eyebrows similar to what your Instagram models do, but slightly more arched, he always wears black lipstick, has cheek piercings and one in his cupid's bow, and large gauges in his ears. He sounds relatvely attractive, so I don't blame you if you think that. However, in every single nightmare I have, he is attempting to make me his. It's either that or he tries to suck all of my blood from me. It's as if he's kidnapped me in my dreams. Luckily he's only a figment of my nightmares, because if he was real, I'd be living in fear every single day.

I looked over at my clock, which read 4:23 P.M.

"I need to try to get some sleep." I said, laying back down to get comfortable.

"You're gonna have to get this checked out at some point honey." Dad said, standing up. "I don't wanna put it off any longer."

"I know, maybe tomorrow I'll head to Dr. Wilson." I said, snuggling into my pillow.

"Well, try to get some rest darling. Love you." Dad said, walking to my door.

"Love you too." I replied. Once he shut my door, I shut my eyes.

"You'll be mine soon enough Madelyn." I heard his voice in my ear. My eyes shot open and I sprung up, heavily breathing. It sounded like he was right next to me, yet no one was in my room...
