Chapter 7

Madelyn's POV: I tried to sneak back upstairs, but a creek on the steps gave me away. Damn it.

"Where the hell have you been?!" Dad rushed out of his bedroom, "I heard you scream earlier and went to check on you but you were gone! I've been worried fucking sick Maddie!" His hair was standing up.

"There was an emergency, but I'm ok, promise." I said, rushing into my room.

"What kind of emergency at this time?!" Dad asked.

"Just don't worry about it ok?" I replied, "You know I come to you if it's important."

"What's that on your neck?!" He asked.

Fuck.

"Nothing. I got bit by some mosquitoes dad, that's it. Calm down." I lied through my fangs. He came over and brushed my hair away to reveal Tom's fang marks.

"That fucker!" Dad yelled. "He forced you to do this didn't he?!"

"No! Seriously, just let me explain!" I tried to calm him down. The doorbell interrupted us.

"I kill that bastard!" He ignored me, stomping down the steps to answer it. When he opened the door, Tom was there, and I had a bad feeling.

"You fucker!" My dad yelled. He grabbed Tom by the collar of his shirt, pressing him against the wall. Tom looked only slightly frightened. My dad meanwhile was going into full werewolf mode. I could see his black fur coming out, claws shot out, and his huge canine teeth were showing.

"Blackie, let me explain." Tom carefully said.

"No chance." My dad's growl was deep, "You turned my daughter."

"It's Tobias." Tom blurted.

After hearing those words, my dad paused. His fur was gone, claws retracted, and he was back to human form. He let go of Tom, who proceeded to brush himself off.

"He's after her?" Dad asked. Tom nodded. "That can't be. Not my daughter."

"Why did I just find out this guy from my nightmares really exists but you guys have know for a while?" I asked.

"Tobias is basically a villain on steroids." Dad said, "He's caused trouble here too often. I understand why you did this Tom. Still not happy about it, but I get it now."

"What do we do? I'm terrified of this guy in my nightmares, so I sure as hell don't want to see him in real life." I said.

"Why don't you go to bed darling? We'll figure things out tomorrow." Dad said. He kissed my forehead before I went back up to my bed.

When I woke up again at 7:45 P.M., I was finally well rested. It's been years since I've had a night free of my terrifying dreams. But it finally happened.

"Sleep well?" A familiar voice asked. Tobias stood at the end of my bed. I screamed as loud as possible, backing myself up to my headboard. Dad burst in the room and turned full werewolf. Without hesitation, he rammed Tobias into my wall at full speed. Tobias proceed to teleport behind dad and kick him. I didn't want to watch my dad get hurt by this monster. I just pulled my knees to my chest, terrified of the whole ordeal.

"Maddie!" I heard Tom's voice. He was on my windowsill again. "C'mon!" He held his hand out.

"I can't leave him." I held back tears.

"You need to come with me!" Tom reiterated. I looked back at my dad. Tobias held him off the ground and against the wall using his telekinetic powers. I quickly grabbed Tom's hand as he helped me to the window. We both turned into bats and flew to his mansion...
