Madelyn's POV: "This shouldn't be happening! She's turned now!" Tom exclaimed, pacing back and forth.

"What do you want us to do Tom?" Eric asked.

"I'm—I don't know, I'm trying to think of something." Tom replied. I simply laid on the couch, thinking about my dad. I just hope Tobias doesn't kill him.

"Fred! Wake the fuck up!" Tom yelled. Fred quickly jumped awake.

"I think I have an idea, but it's risky." Jeff said. "The only place she'll be ok is the mortal world. Tobias won't dare venture there in fear of being found out. Besides, he'll kill everyone, and he isn't gonna get away with that."

"Sounds feasible." Tom said, "Maddie, have you ever been outside our world?" I shook my head.

"That's the risky part." Jeff said.

"It looks like our only option though." Tom said, "I'll talk with Blackie and see what he says."

"Talk to me about what?" Someone said. I jumped up and saw my dad standing at the front door, holding his arm. I couldn't stop myself from running and hugging him.

"You're ok." I whispered.

"What's going on?" He asked as he let go.

"Fred, get him an ice pack for the arm." Tom said. Fred ambled into the kitchen. "Blackie, sit, you gotta get off your feet." Dad limped over and sat on the couch.

"Bastard threw me into the wall." He mumbled.

"Oh god he hurt you didn't he?" I asked.

"Yeah, but I bit him so we're even." Dad said.

"Look, Blackie, I think I've figured out a way to keep Maddie safe until we can get rid of Tobias." Tom said, "But you're not gonna like it."

"I don't like those words Tom." Dad said.

"I believe she'll be safe in the mortal realm." Tom blurted.

"What?!" Dad exclaimed, "Are you joking?!" Fred came back with the ice pack, which my dad quickly held on his shoulder.

"It'll throw Tobias off our trail. He'll be looking all around here while she's safe and sound in their world." Tom said.

"Look, I don't want my daughter going there." Dad replied, quickly becoming overprotective, "Who knows what'll happen to her there? Especially now that you've turned her. Creatures don't belong in the human world."

"Blackie, you have to hear me out here." Tom said, "She'll be safe there. I'll come back and help everyone with getting rid of Tobias. Once he's gone I'll bring her back." My dad just sat there, arms crossed. "I promise she'll be safe Blackie. I'd never let anyone hurt her in their world."

"Ok. But make sure she stays safe." My dad eventually said.

"I'll make sure of it." Tom replied, "Maddie, I'm gonna call some people before we go, so you've got some time to do what you need."

"Dad, you have to come with." I said.

"I can't." He replied, "I have to stay here and help get rid of Tobias. Tom's gonna be back and forth between there and here to help. This is for your safety."

"What's it like there?" I asked.

"I haven't been there in so long," dad explained, "But last time I was, people hated us. I almost got killed. My friends didn't make it back. It's why I'm so nervous about you going. I don't want anything happening to you, especially now that you're a vampire."

"How long ago were you there?" I asked.

"Sometime around 1876, I'm not sure." He said.

"Dad, I've researched their realm a lot." I explained, "They love horror movies, hold conventions that praises our kind, they even go as far as modifying themselves to look like us! I think I'll be ok."

"Ok, my friend can take us in, and I let Ozzy know we're coming to use the portal." Tom walked back in the room, "Ready?"

"Be safe dad." I hugged him.

"You be safe Maddie." He replied, kissing my cheek.

"You'll be fine kiddo." Jeff said. Tom and I left his house and drove to Ozzy Osbourne's palace. The vampire king has plenty of connections to the real world.

"You remember how to use it Tom, right?" He mumbled.

"Yes, I know." Tom said, "Set the destination for L.A."

The portal opened, and Tom and I stepped inside, a bright light consuming my vision...
